Hello.

Sara

Um, Hi

The Mouse
02-07-2005, 04:17 PM
You look pleasant this afternoon, how are you?

Sara
02-07-2005, 04:29 PM
Quite well, thanks. Its a busy day though with work and school. How are you?

The Mouse
02-07-2005, 04:32 PM
Oh, I can’t complain. Busy of course, as life would always have it for us. I haven’t seen you in here very often... you’re like a shadow that waits on the wall until finally it is gently stirred for all to see. So naturally I had to shed some light upon you and say hello; but I trust the light won’t ruin you too much?

Sara
02-07-2005, 04:36 PM
Well, what would ya like to know about me? Do you have msn messenger? Might be easier to chat with that.

The Mouse
02-07-2005, 04:39 PM
I’m sure others would like to know more about you as well, or join in on the conversation since most people here don’t know you very well either. However, I do have msn messenger but am not able to be on it right now, as I am at work and can only type my thoughts on these forums.

So general questions; what do you do for fun? What are your likes/dislikes? What are you doing with your life right now? Etc...

As of now, I run an office for a small lab, and take a couple classes a semester for enjoyment. I spend alot of my time reading, playing in pool leagues, and having movie nights.
My likes be spicy thai food, ice skating, jogging in parks-regardless of how cliche that sounds, tatt's, dancing, art-festivals, gardening, motorcycles, and for reasons I'm not sure why cartoons like the Family Guy, Futurama, and the Simpsons.
My dislikes lately are slinkies! How horribly anti-climatic it is for them to stop just a step or two from the bottom!

With luv,
-Sara

Bluecifer
02-07-2005, 05:50 PM
I'm a Dali fan too mouse. Anyway, I like cartoons too. I actually never really watched Family Guy until recently. I rented all the DVD's I could get my hands on and LMAO. South Park is probably still my fav even though lately they haven't been as funny as usual. I also like Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Sara
02-07-2005, 05:59 PM
Yeppers, I be a Dali fan. Bluecifer, did ya see the cartoon that came on after the simpsons last night? American Pride. Is Aqua Teen Hunger Force really that good? The premise just turns me away, haven't given it a fair shot.

Dogg, no ones avoiding ya hun. Just hadn't added it to my profile till now.

Bluecifer
02-07-2005, 06:04 PM
Yeah, it's pretty good. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pretty good, though a bit more subtle in it's humor. Also a cartoon that I just netflixed. If you haven't seen it you should check out at least 2 episodes, it's pretty entertaining.

****. like replace the ice skating with snowboarding and you gotta female version of me. well, with the exception of dancing...........unless i'm rollin.

and **** slinkies!!! everytime i pick one of those up it'll get tangled. and the more you try to untangle it, the worse it gets. the only good thing about slinkies is that scene in Ace Ventura When Nature Calls.

Sara
02-07-2005, 11:46 PM
Ya might b right on the slinkies, its just when you get that elusive-perfect run, that makes it all the way down all dope and stuff... the only thing that beats that is a Snoopy Snoe Cone. yumm, Snoopy Snoe Cones. That had to be one of the coolest inventions of the eighties.

i hated snow cones. you always got that bite that had too much syrup......and then that watered down ice bite. plus they were all sticky.

i only ate snow cones at the zoo. so i have this very keen snowcone/animal-****-scent memory of it.

btw, spicy thai kicks ****in ass.

i've been a Dali fan ever since i can remember. When i used to go to church like around high school years, this lady got me very envious. My parents had some meeting at her place and i got dragged along. She has a Dali Print and underneath it is his autograph on a Metropolitan Museum of Art guide.

As luck would have it, she literally walked right into him as she wasn't paying attention, while strolling through the Met in NYC. She was shocked and had a long conversation with him and got his autograph on her little guide book.

O'de to have met the man himself....

(PS.. i majored in illustration and graphic design in college, even though i never completed either course, and he was the artist i picked for about every project. Him, MC Escher, and HR giger were pretty much the focus of any projects i did..)

Leather
02-09-2005, 02:01 AM
Do you like Giger, General?? Have you seen the Taschen portfolio and the Icons book of giger?? So "beautiful". One of my target is visit his coffee museum, it has to be another great and special experience....

Dali’s work is nice and cute and everything, but he’s not demented enough. He’s more of a pop-art abstract painter than anything else. I like him, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer something a little more darker and deeper into the mind and soul of the painter. The best artists in my opinion, have all been extremely “off” in the head – therefore their work shows and screams more passion and excitement to me than a typical joe-shmoe abstract painter off the street like Dali. Give me the dark dungeon over the pink Disneyland any day of the week.

GeNeRaL
02-09-2005, 02:24 PM
well, ive done an in depth research paper on Dali, and trust me. he's twisted, far from a typical joe schmoe, as you labeled him.

The Mouse
02-09-2005, 02:27 PM
Well, it depends upon who you contrast him with.

Leather
02-09-2005, 03:00 PM
Pop-art abstract?? WTF?? It's pathetic...Then Chirico, Magritte and Chagal were graffiti painters...was Dali was a PURE surrealist before he left the group. Surrealism isn't the same of demented or twisted, surrealism is the true expression of all we think and we don't see around us, it's the deepest of our mind and dreams, it can be dark or happy, happynes or sadness,...

The Mouse
02-09-2005, 04:00 PM
I'm not talking bad about Dali; I actually think his works are cute. But I've seen better.

Leather
02-09-2005, 04:05 PM
I know, but ...abstract pop-art???

The Mouse
02-09-2005, 04:11 PM
Yea, he's a bit too pop-art(ish) for my taste. When I think of surreal I think of emotional complexity that reaches through the depths of the subconscious mind and vomits out onto a canvas. Dali doesn't really do that for me, I think his idea of surrealism is nice but it's a bit too cliché for me. Give me something original and passionate and I'll be happy; Dali says, "Well, I'll give you something that even little kids can enjoy; I don't want to offend anyone so I'm going to have to water it down a bit." I like it raw, risqué, and dark... Dali is none of those.

Leather
02-09-2005, 04:39 PM
Well, the pop-art take the contemporary consumer culture and tendences and Dalí didn't anything of this, the surrealism didn't try to expose a clear sadness and "black" feelings, at least in the paint art. mm...maybe your point want to say some art like Giger, Am I wrong? Dark feelings and agressive characters from the mind...
