Riggs suffered a cut above his eye a few days ago in training. It happened while he was wrestling as his head collided with his training partner.
Riggs told MMAWeekly last night "Damn right this sucks. Getting 14 stiches in my head.....man I can't tell you how pissed off I am. I trained my ass off for this fight."
His camp was hoping that a few days time would give him enough to recover, but that is not the case.
Last night it appeared the UFC would not look for a replacement and scrap the fight, since there were already eight other fights on the card, but there were a few fighters that called the UFC offices and wanted the fight.
According to a few emails we received from a few trainers, one guy who wants the fight is King of the Cage middleweight champion, Joey Villaseneor, but the UFC as of last night was planning on scrapping the match. Whether that changes today we shall see. We will have updates on the Soundoff Forum with the latest information.
