Last Friday I arrived early to pick up my son from ROTC and discovered that there is a HUGE lack of discipline. No respect from or for my son to and from the other members. It was disgraceful. I was very appalled!
I talked to his MasterSargeant and he pretty much agreed with who was leading his group and said it's not doing Dan any good. So he's dropping ROTC second semester and I'm trying to convince him that the swim team would be good for him for the following reasons.
1. He wants to lose weight. He's pretty husky.
2. He likes to swim, used to swim all the time.
3. It will keep him busy and he needs to have some form of exercise everyday.
My reasons for him to join:
I miss going to the pool for swim meets. His oldest sister was on the waterpolo team and swim team. :-)
It's REALLY good for him to exercise EVERY day as it wears him out and he's less argumentative each evening.
I know the swim coach personally and she's very into discipline and pushing the boy's team hard. But she's also fun. Plus she's known Dan and his problems for years.
He's outta my hair for two hours each day. :-)
