Here’s my review: If you watch this movie like an independent film, then it rocks. If you watch this movie like a normal Hollywood movie, you might say that it’s too slow, weird, and a waste of your money; which is one reason the normal reviews on this movie can go either way. The camera shots are bizarre, good character development, and good psychological depth; by that I mean that the director really takes you into the obsession and drive of the main character. Although those of you who have seen it may think completely opposite of me; hence, it goes back to your mindset before walking into the theater. Best bet, expect watching movie-art, (i.e. independent), rather than expecting to watch the typical Hollywood movie formula.

On a side note, this movie freaked me out. Yea, I was like, “this is a good scary movie” when I was watching it. Then of course I had to go home and really research contacting the dead through this type of method. Come to find out it’s been around since 1900. I was shocked with how much scientific research there is in support of this method; meaning, even the most renowned physicists and scientists in the world say, “Yes, there is definitely something happening here that we cannot explain.” Talk of a 4th-dimension are popular among leading thinkers in this area; of which is intertwined within our 3-dimensional definition of existence. Thomas Edison was one key figure that dwelled on this phenomenon for one, admitting that there are people who have passed away whom are indeed making contact through electro-magnetic/ energy wrappings of the different dimensions of universe around us that we cannot see; but which have now been proven to exist through scientific methods. Fascinating, scary, but nonetheless it gets you thinking; just don’t let it turn into an obsession as the movie clearly teaches.

If you're interested, do a little research of your own on: EVP, (electronic voice phenomena)

As far as that movie goes; I have heard mixed reviews about it. A couple of my friends told me not to waste 10 bucks on it and wait for the DVD.

That's pretty much what my daughter said. She loves scary movies, but she wasn't too impressed with this one.

She was also disappointed because it was originally rated R. She went to see it on her 17th birthday and it's a big deal for kids to get to go see an R movie without permission....oh well......there will be more to come, I'm sure. ;-)

What really throws me though is that I watched it with my grandpa, (who is a biblical scholar junky). He’s devoted his life to the Scriptures and science. So we were talking a little seriously and in-depth on the subject of contacting the dead and he basically tells me that there’s nothing wrong with fine-tuning/training yourself to feel/contact that which we cannot see with our eyes. It shocked me because any pastor or member of the church would say, “stay away at all costs, don’t mess with it.” On the other hand there are benefits for the few who take it seriously and seek to grow in knowledge and wisdom rather than just doing it for kicks and a late-night spook. It is interesting; to get a taste of the un-known, we would no longer have to extrapolate...but many people are comfortable in simply extrapolating and not to so much the serious quest for answers; and I assume, many are not yet ready for those answers.

People fear what they don't know or understand.
That's why they aren't ready for it.
Some just don't care about it. Life goes on.

Yes, but “life” is relative. Some would say life is what our immediate senses perceive; while others would say life is what our immediate senses perceive as well as our extended senses can begin to fathom, (i.e. heart, mind, and soul). Depending on how in-tune you are with what’s around you, will determine what you define life as. I use this quote all the time, “we don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.” Philosophy is awesome.
