View Full Version : What's your house like?
Curly Howard 01-17-2005, 04:49 PM I'm a slob but I hate a dirty house. That's why I got married... (well that and the whole love thing) but we have two kids and live in a small place. I guess you'd call our place "lived in" looking. What's your place like? Are you a slob or a neat freak? Do you clean or does someone else take care of it? Pop art or whiskey bottles? Jelly jar glasses or crystal???
Purity 01-17-2005, 05:00 PM you've all seen Casa DeSoto
nance 01-17-2005, 05:26 PM Lived in look. I'm the mom, so I'm in charge. Kids do when ordered, but one kid helps without being asked.
Fallout 01-17-2005, 05:46 PM you've all seen Casa DeSoto
A sea of empty gatoraid bottles and fast food wrappers. Last time I was there anyway.
Purity 01-17-2005, 06:29 PM you've never been to Casa DeSoto. you only toured the HB Pad.
handjobs4dollars 01-17-2005, 07:17 PM I can't see my bedroom floor.

When I was a kid I actually cleaned my room one day and my dad walks in and says, "OMG!!!! I didn't know you had red carpeting" and made a huge deal out of it.....now if he cleans HIS room...I do the same to him.....revenge is sweet. :)
GeNeRaL 01-18-2005, 12:20 AM I'm in an "in-law" apartment on the back of my gf's mothers house.
The Pro's:
--rent is practically free
--we hooked it up nice
--my home theater sounds great in a small area lol
--electric, heat, hot water, etc...all our own separate bills.
The con's:
--Very small.
--electric, heat, hot water, etc...all our own separate bills.

Cleaning your house while children are still growing
is like shoveling the walk while it's still snowing.
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 11:44 AM I live in a small apartment and I just bought a home theater... I am not gonna leave the house for a while.

Did you get the big screen TV you talked about?
I live in a third floor appartment. Me and the wife keep it reasonably clean with random articles of clothing and papers here and there. We have one bedroom, one bath, kitchen with huge pantry, big hallway, and nice living room. 1000 square feet in all. We got a Sony 51" HDTV in the living room to keep us entertained. The only problem is the heat. We share heat. It feels like Florida in the winter. :(
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 11:53 AM Nah, That is the next step. I bought a 1000 watt home theater with a powered subwoofer... Sounds nice; my crib shakes like a coconut in a palm tree.
Curly Howard 01-18-2005, 11:56 AM I'll bet the neighbors love you
The Mouse 01-18-2005, 11:59 AM Clean and orderly. I try to make my house as much like a monastic convent as possible; meaning extremely simplistic. When I move shortly, I’m going to rip out the carpets and just have a cement floor, no decorations, no clutter, ....one thing I am going to put up is a rot-iron candle chandelier that I’ll chain to the ceiling above the table, that’ll be the center-piece of the house. The bed will be as it is now; small, a blanket, sheets, and one pillow. Art on the walls is to a minimum, but that which I do have is religious and historical. The walls are sanitized by hand once a week, as are the floors and sinks. I avoid using too much electricity as candles are much more soothing. As far as the lights go, I have only what I need; I walk into peoples houses and they have eight lamps for one room, it makes me sick. Furniture is also, simplistic; I have only what I need. All books are stacked neatly in the book shelf, no magazines or newspapers are left laying around; even on the table. No clothes get laid around either; if I change or undress, then the discarded pair of clothes get folded and either put back on their shelf or put in the laundry stack – which will be cleaned twice per week. There’s only one t.v. in the house and it’s only used for news and documentaries, none of this Hollywood crap that fills 98% of the channels. I have one old/vintage radio in the middle of the living-room that is used for nightly classical music while I read; this constitutes most of the noise that takes place in the house. Care-products in the bathroom are also kept to a minimum; i.e. I don’t need a “face cream,” I’m not gay.. one shampoo and one conditioner... one deodorant, blade for shaving, toothbrush, and one toothpaste. And every pencil in my entire house must be always kept finely sharpened. Other than that, my house is pretty chill.

LMAO!! At least we smell good. :)
The Mouse 01-18-2005, 12:14 PM At least we smell good.
All you need for that is ONE bottle of perfume...one. Not 12 face creams, 8 bottles of hairspray, 2 hair dryers, two bags of make-up, 32 brushes... !!!!! When I get married I'm going to run through a wall.

I only have two bottles of perfume.
I keep it pretty simple myself. My girls on the other hand........
AgonYx0 01-18-2005, 12:35 PM i have a 5 and 3 year old, they love making messes, so i only clean when they go to bed, so really the only mess is on weekends if we are home on weekends.

DAayyyyUUuummm!!! 1000 watts!!! It must be thumping. How many speakers?
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 02:08 PM 5.1 Dolby D.
Nice. How much did it run your pockets?
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 02:14 PM 500 bucks. I got approved for the best buy card and couldn't resist.
VulgarTheClown 01-18-2005, 02:15 PM I like in a 1 room loft with a kitchen and a bathroom.
if you walk in my room you imediately see a stomve on your left and a vanity type area on your right.
Next to the stove on the left is a double sink and a smalla mmount of counter space. Directly across from the kitchen sink is a door that leads to the bathroom wit ha toilet full tub and shower.
now even a foot down the hallway is a full fridge then the floor changes from tile to carpet and its just an open room with a bed, dresser, desk, and clothing cabinet.
Curly Howard 01-18-2005, 02:17 PM I had an electronics store card when I was 19. I had to get a 2nd job to pay the bill. That "oly $19.95 a month" **** adds up. I lived in a one room apartment and had a 32'' tv and kenwood rack system...... life was good
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 02:18 PM No interest for 6 months, Curly man!! I am paying this **** off in a couple of months and getting me a 42" LCD.
Curly Howard 01-18-2005, 02:23 PM God I want one of those. I sat and watched them at best buy a few weeks ago.
Mr. Beelzebub 01-18-2005, 02:30 PM Those ****ers have those electric reclining chairs right in front of the HDTVs too...
Curly Howard 01-18-2005, 02:45 PM Now all they need is women in bikinis handing out beer and they would never loose a sale.
nance 01-18-2005, 02:47 PM Now all they need is women in bikinis handing out beer and they would never loose a sale.
