How would all of these ufc/mma champions go in a fight with 'no takedowns/wrestling' against huge power punchers like Julian Jackson, Mike Tyson, Edison Miranda, the G Man, or the murderous Rocky Marciano?

that would be with kicks, elbows, knee's etc,

Julian Jackson was a true one punch KO artist, he would put guys to sleep with one punch wearing those huge boxing gloves, what would happen against a ufc of the same weight class at MW if he was wearing those tiny ass 4 oz gloves?

that ground and pound **** is for *******,

How would a Rampage or a Chuck Liddell or any other top guy around the same weight class go against a prime, menacing, brawling, 'go for the KO with every punch thrown' Mike Tyson?

or better yet, how would an mma fighter (around the 190 lbs weight mark) from the 1950's go against a beast like Rocky Marciano who had a record of 49 straight wins, 43 KO's? Oh, i forgot there were no mma organizations around back in those days when boxers were fighting with broken jaws, broken ribs and broken hands

they could use their kicks etc but takedowns, real men fight standing up and toe to toe

The most successful MMA fighters show well-rounded skills, so why put them up against the very best of one art? Of course their chances wouldn't be that high.

If we're just doing standing with all strikes, I wouldn't take many MMA fighters that haven't competed in K1. Speaking of which,

Standing only, this man knocks everyone you've listed unconscious, dead.

I was gonna say something until I seen the last part of that sentence. lol

I agree Remy would KO everyone he listed. I also dont believe anybody he listed would survive this.

Those guys would likely kayo most guys in the UFC, except for the guys with very technical striking like A. Silva and Machida. Against good kickboxers though it is extremely difficult for boxers to find their punching range and the usually get picked apart by kicks. Also if they do close range a good MT fighter will likely knee their block off. They may have a punchers chance, but basically boxing is not a good kickboxing style.

Yea he ko'd Hari. In my opinion he beat Remy, even with the knock down. It at least should have been a draw after 3.

Kicks, Knees, and Elbows, have ALWAYS been the deciding factor when you pit a kickboxer vs. a boxer. The only time boxing ever overcomes all of those is if there are two equally skilled kickboxers going at it and one guy is a better boxer. So I'd take any of the top strikers in MMA over any of the top boxers you listed via more tools, body, head, and leg kicks, and a lil something we call the PLUM with knees.

And grappling is no or *******, it's just merely another way of fighting. Don't try to hate on something you can't beat or dunno **** about. Makes you look like a tool...

To add to that, whenever I visit my boxing gym, there's usually a few guys that rag on me for practicing my Jiu Jitsu. The hate is stemming, solely, from them knowing that they're a single trip or takedown away from being in water with a shark.

Edit: And I'm only a Blue Belt.

Which is probably why so many people here rip on MMA and grappling...i mean what else do they have on it? They know a pure boxer would lose to a pure grappler 9 out of 10 times so all they have is "it's gay and for *******" but whatever. Anyone know anything about fighting would know that any streetfight, without weapons of course, always end up with some kind of clinch...sooooo there's the opening for grappling.

This is Will Muldoon. First Commissioner of the NYSAC. If he wasn't maintaining order in boxing, he was helping the boxers keep fit.

Guess what he did before that?

Catch and Greco-Roman wrestler.

We all know this guy. He started out in Boxing.

He learned Catch Wrestling during the Spanish American War.

He was the Us first Judo Brown Belt as President.

Do I really need to say anything about this guy?

Ad Santel couldn't stand him once he got the hang of Catch. The military made him even meaner.
