END OF ROUND 1!!
realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:30 AM They're sayin Silva dont want none of Hunt standing, and the last punch that dropped him was probably the closest Silva has ever been to being KOed...
realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:37 AM Round two begins, Hunt lands another bomb on Silva. Silva is dazed. Hunt follows into the guard and looking to pound. now in vanderlei's closed guard, hunt stands up out of guard, silva backs into corner, clinches, vanderlei trip takedown into mount, restarted in middle of ring, vanderlei was trying a type of smother for awhile, jesus, hunt reverses out of the mount into silvas full guard, un****inbelievable, pure size move though, without the weight difference not possible, silva tying up the hands and arms, bell rings as silva was trying an armbar.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:44 AM 3rd round starts, silva looks pissed talking to himself, crowd going nuts for a japanese crowd, stalking each other, exchange bombs , no damage done but if they had landed it would have been over for both of them, silva take down to back mount ,hunt rolls out and stand up, i've never heard the japanese crowd get loud like that, vanderlei is wobbly, he's eater alot of bombs, hunt has yet to throw a kick, vanderlei double leg take down, Restart in the middle.

realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:48 AM Hunt, Silva, Hunt
Hunt wins split decision!!
realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:48 AM Fedor vs Noguera is next....
realkaps 12-31-2004, 08:57 AM It's 6am here, I've been up all night typing this for nobody, oh well....
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:06 AM Round 1.
Fedor throws a wooping right hand and takes noguiera down. fedor gets up and goes for stomp, but misses. Both men back up, Fedor shoots in takes mino down again, then gets back up to soccer kick. Fedor looks very fast and much stronger than Nog. Noguiera looks calm and composed. now nog looks for takedown, but fedor tosses him to the ground. They go back to there feet.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:16 AM Fedor keeps getting straight back up from Nog's guard. This fight is very fast paced. about 4 min in there has been 4 - 5 takedowns and stand up by fedor. Nog is defending well, but is trying hard to keep the fight on the ground. Both men are bleeding from their nose. Good boxing exchange by both men. This fight is so fast. Nog finally got the take down and managed to passed to Fedor's half guard, but fedor displayed good defense from his back.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:28 AM Round 2 ended
both fighters are showing why they are the 2 of the best. They are 2 best heavyweights fighting in lightweight speed.
Fedor seemed to figured out the way to beat Nog. He lands bombs on his feet and takes Nog down, when he comes in with punches. When Nog goes for something in the guard, then fedor pounds nog's face. When Nog tries to defend by bringing his knees up, then he stands back up.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:30 AM 2min left in rd. 3
Nog is desperately trying to pull off a miracle, but Fedor is too fast, and too smart.
It's a shame that one of this man has to lose in this fight. Final exchange by two men in last minute. Noguiera's face is bloody mess. Fight over, goes to decision...
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:30 AM Fedor, Fedor, Fedor....

Thanks to Big Mike and LushDogg from the UG for the PbP...
Wow, sound like it was a good show. Silva losing was a suprise. He should stick to guys his own size, I guess. The moving up in weight thing doesn't sound like a good idea. Can't wait till this Sunday to see it myself.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:50 AM He was rocked a couple times, he didnt want no part of the stand up with Hunt....
So kaps, are you happy Silva finally lost? In a way I am. It ought to motivate him to come back stronger. Although, he better stick to being a LHW. I feel bad for Nog, because there seems to be nothing he can do about Fedor. Fedor is a monster!
I really want to see the Gomi x Pulver fight!!!
He was rocked a couple times, he didnt want no part of the stand up with Hunt....
Can't blame him either. Hunt's has alot of power. I'm glad Hunt won though. He has alot of potential. He and CroCop will be challenging Fedor someday in the future I'm sure. I can't wait for those fights.
realkaps 12-31-2004, 09:54 AM I picked Silva to win by decision, but yeah, I am a little happy he lost, it'd be better if he got koed. Hunt has really worked on his ground game. Im lookin for pics right now....
Now excuse me while I go kick myself for looking at the spoilers!
I picked Silva to win by decision, but yeah, I am a little happy he lost, it'd be better if he got koed. Hunt has really worked on his ground game. Im lookin for pics right now....
Everyone eventually loses. When I read the weight difference, I was like, Dayum! I had a feeling he would lose, cause I knew he could not beat Hunt standing. I really doubted he could submit him, too.
Prince 12-31-2004, 10:31 AM Mirko "CroCop" Flipovic defeats Kevin Randleman by Guillotine Choke Round 1.
that is probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard in my life
that makes me extremely angry
Fallout 12-31-2004, 11:57 AM I have gathered a few things.
1. Gomi is badass
2. Anderson Silva can't defend submissions against small japanese men
3. Gardner sounds like he trained his ass off. I guess working with Team Quest was the right choice. He sounded like he looked great
4. It sounded to me like Silva should of won. Hunt rocked Silva a couple times, Silva got lots of takedowns and guard passes and Hunt only escape because he was damn near 300 lbs. With the size difference rule, I am surprised Silva didn't win. Props to Hunt though, he sounds like he fought great.
5. Mirko, mad submission skills.
6. Fedor is just too powerful for Nogueira to submit. Fedor is good standing, good from his back and we all know what he does when he is on top. The only people that even have a CHANCE against Fedor seem to be Mirko and Syliva, because they MIGHT land a bomb, ala Fujita. I doubt it though, Fedor is number 1.
I can't wait to see some of these fights. Espically Silva vs Hunt and Nogueria vs Fedor.

mmafanman 01-05-2005, 12:49 PM Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Stefan Leko -- Leko has no business fighting in MMA. He proved it once again against The Punk.
Choi Mu Bae vs. Giant Silva -- They need to give Choi some better competition. Maybe then we'll get a better idea of how good he is. IMO, I think he probably could've finished the fight quicker.
Ryan Gracie vs. Yoji Anjo -- Pudgy Ryan should've been DQ'ed after swinging at the ref. Please feed this guy to any of the top 10 Pride middleweights. I'm tired of seeing him against b-level Japanese fighters.
Ryo Chonan vs. Anderson Silva -- Chonan basically neutralized everything Silva threw at him. Silva had somewhat of a shot at a rear naked choke, but after that it was all Chonan. That last sub has to rank up there with Sato's flying armbar.
Makoto Takimoto vs, Henry "Sentoryu" Miller -- Blacked out. Glad to see I didn't see this one.
Rulon Gardner vs. Yoshida -- I don't think anybody in the heavyweight division will be able to take Gardner down. He's got a super quick sprawl and tremendous upper body strength. He'll have serious problems against strikers, though.
Mirko "CroCop" Flipovic vs. Kevin Randleman -- Disappointed to see that this one didn't go longer. I think a third fight is in order.
Dan Henderson vs. Yuki Kondo -- Decision Dan needed that last takedown in the final minute to pull out the victory. Otherwise, Yuki Kondo might have did enough to win. I've never seen Dan full mounted twice before in a fight. I guess he really was sick.
Takanari Gomi vs. Jens Pulver -- Wow. Awesome technical stand-up war. I knew Pulver could box, but Gomi showed some serious stand-up skills. He was crisp, quick and simply too strong for Pulver. I think Pulver hit Gomi clean more than twice, and nothing happened. He just walked right through him.
Mark Hunt vs. Vanderlei Silva -- Silva tried to trade with Hunt and paid for it. Silva did get the takedowns in round three. But when he did, he didn't do jack **** to Hunt. I think he was still feeling the effects of that right hand Hunt landed in round two. And Hunt's "atomic butt stomp" was ****ing classic.
Emilianenko Fedor vs. Antonio Noguera -- Nog just can't beat Fedor. Simple as that.
