While some fights are fixed I don't think that there are that many. I think the problem is that you get some incompetent judges that are hired by the promoters, yes some are hired by the promoters, who know that if they act more favorable to that promoters fighter, they will get more judging jobs in the future.

The promoter also pays for all expenses for the judges(hotel, travel, and food).

I don't think there are as much fixed fights as many people think. I think it's more with what the judges are doing. Sometimes they are just incompetent and some are swayed by the crowd more than they will admit. I also feel that some of the fans just need to realize that a fight is sometimes close enough to where if either fighter won it wouldn't be a robbery.

People who say boxing is fixed or rigged are not real fights fans they are novices who know dick about the sport! IT is trendy to say that boxing is fixed and when you say that you expose yourself.

Christsanswer...your boy has been in some pretty sketchy decisions, do you actually think he beat Fast Frez? How about Golota? How about McCline? Will Byrd ever ko another fighter in his life? Was Jeff Pegues the last guy he ko'd, I don't know?

I agree with you about the fixed fights, people who really don't know the sport say fights are fixed.

As for Byrd'd recent performances, I felt he lost to Oquendo by 2 points, he beat Golota by 2 points, and he beat McCline by 3-4 points.

Who cares if he doesn't ever KO another fighter in is life, just as long as he wins. But he did have McCline almost ready to go.

McCline was off balance, I think, but definitely not ready to go

when the judges not only don't know what a majority decision is or how to give one, i'd call that incompetence, or when the mofos don't know what to give points for ( boy have i seen too much of this )

But it is hard to say really, since Chris has not knocked out anyone in a very long time.

One can influence the official outcome of the fight by appointing incompetent judges that would be biased in favor or against certain boxers. Don't boxers/promoters have something to say when judges get appointed?

I heard something that the promoters give a pool of judges and the commission picks the ones the feel are necessary for that particular fight or it could be the other way around.

i don't think boxers have any say on the judging, but i'll bet the promoters do... i'm just tired of these bull**** hometown decisions like the biggest rape of the year - Augustus vs. Burton

I'm not a novice, and I'm not trendy. Maybe I should have said that someone should slide some extra love toward a couple of judges. Damn.

I read that Holyfield is now 'put on hold' by the boxing council. I doubt that he will be allowed to fight again.
He can now compete with Big George in the cheese burger eating contests!
Unfortunately, a lot of people hate seeing themselves lose their edge, or growing old!

Living one's life is about aging gracefully and accepting what life has to offer.

Strangely enough, I have a feeling that Tyson is going to go off the rails again quite soon. He is one person who will not accept that he is through.
