ok check this

i am 0-2, had my first fight aug 08, 2nd fight march 09.
i debating basiclly quitting after my 2nd loss, and decided to keep going.
i love the sport, and realized after may im in it for the compeition and to put on a show not really just for the win...

i been battling a serious flu, re injured my broken rib, and have a sinus infection my ears been plugged for 5 days and ringing constantly...

all these things would be enough to make a boxer take some time off. but i have a fight lined up mid july that i cant afford to miss. and i decided to continue training for it and doing all i can...

then yesterday i was informed by my trainer another fight is lined up for me one week before my july fight. i havent 100% agreed to it yet, but im thinking its time like this, that make a boxer a boxer...

one side of me wants to say no and play it safe and just fight one fight
the other side of me says im a warrior, lets do this, ill go in there and test both guys out see wut they got

but in reality theres always the risk of injury in a fight. so i could get injured and miss the 2nd fight...

any advice / feedback would be appreciated, as my decisions still 60-40

Other people are supposed to commend you and give you credit, you don't commend yourself.

dont risk it, play it safe, boxers recently have been playing it safe and they've got less wrong with them and if you got injured in the first fight the second one isnt going to happen. plus you havn't won yet so i doubt you would feeling like crap

take it mate, you will learn from it and improve yourself more from it. this is only amateurs so don't worry about your record.

he who doesn't take risks in life will accomplish nothing, as someone once said ;) lol

Take both fights, if you get injured in the first one, don't fight the second..

seems obvious enough.

i would stick with one fight. u are already struggling to get prepared to fight once, and u have a losing record. no need to rush, just take your time. once u get some momentum and start winning fights u can start fighting more often and taking fights on short notice etc.

most of u speak some wisdom..

id like to add that the 2nd fight is in my hometown and i reallllllly dont wanna miss it its gunna be a great show i wanna be a part of...

and the first fight would be against a newbie 0-0
less weight than me. but older then me...
im still thinking it over

seems like yall are as mixed as i am when it comes to a decision.

seriously mate take both you never know one might not come off, and you will benefit from it. more fights = more experience = better boxer :)

im just gutted for you that you have to train through july lol, too hot lol

lolol yea true richie.

im thinking along those lines too... like once both fights n july come to an end. looking back, if i took both fights ill be really happy with myself win or loss...

but at the same time, if i had it MYYY WAYY, id have my one original fight in my hometown july. then reschedule the fight with the newbie..

they are begging for us to take it cuz its in their hometown and he wants to fight on his hometown show card... but hey, boxing aint about doing people favours...

i told my trainer to gimme a week to think it over.. but i might tell him, if that dude wants to fight me, he has gotta wait to august where we can duke it out on neutral territory

personally i'd take both, i say f**k playing it safe, thats not what boxing is in my eyes.
its not a safe sport as it is, so why try to "play it safe"
take both, you might end up coming out with two wins, which straightens your record out.

but, i'd only want both fights if i felt 100% in time for the first fight, your only asking for a beating if you go into the fight already hurt.

theres pro's and cons either way, its down to what you feel m8, nobody else, just look out for number 1 :boxing:
