EXCELLENT, I was afraid I'd offended you. Lots more Army folk about, though they try to deny it.

My hubby's brother was a marine. We have soft spots for them here.

And yes, I noticed the date already.
No idea why it's predated. I'm just happy he passed considering three weeks ago he wanted to quit. We wouldn't let him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/MADCrewMOM/Danny.jpgHardcore. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

Not that I don't expect something else good to happen to me now. Just would be a challenge to see if I could do better with the knowledge I have now.

I'd have told a lot of my buds to "go ahead without me", and have done more studying, less drinking, drugs, bull****ting around and squandering time, etc....

Most of that **** was either pointless or counterproductive. meh

WIthout boring you like I have everyone else, my son has had some problems. We were hoping this would help straighten him out. It's too soon to tell, but I will take what little comes my way.

Tomorrow is a court date that will hopefully put a more concise decision on his future.

I've read a little of his chronicles. Mine were different but probably more similar if you're talking to my mom. He'll be alright. Most look as discipline as confining but if you're wise you come to view distinct guidelines as enabling you to be truly free.

His time spent paying attention to detail and adhereing to standards will pay off.

I sure hope so. It's been very difficult and I am a worry wart mom, but with good reason.

The hard part lately has been his dad works the swing shift and isn't home in the evenings. So it's like being a single mom. I try to be just happy hubby earns a good enough paycheck for to stay home, but it would be nice to have that deep male voice say "do as your mother says" lol

Which reminds me of a story. When I was a little wide eyed spindly legged chap, I'd go outside and mash bugs that lived in the holes a woodpecker had made in one of the fruit trees in our yard.

My mom would tell me to stop as she went about hanging out laundry, etc. but as soon as she was out of sight I'd go right back to it.

This fateful day I was sitting in the bath tub; I guess my mom made me take a bath before bedtime or something, and while I was sitting in there my dad came in still dressed in his fatigues and lifted me out by one hand(I said it was a loooooooong time ago) and beat the living **** outta me with his utility belt, they called em back then.

I'd forgotten all about the bug squishing but it all came back to me as my ass was set afire. One of my oldest and not fondest memories.

True story.

OOWWWWWWWWWWWW!

My dad broke the belt over my butt. Brand new one too.
I wouldn't apologize for something. I don't remember if I did it or not, but I do remember not bending to my dad's will.

I was suspended in the air, wet and naked. I remember it vividly after all these years.

Sadly, probably the most vivid memory I have of my Pops.

Abuse sucks.

Can't tell you how many times I wanted to beat the daylights out of my son.
But spanking him never worked. It just built resentment over the long run. It was a short term solution to a long term problem.
Patience is the key with him, along with consistency.
