whats funny is there is a slider for the refs ability to catch illegal activity, so if you put it all the way to zero you can low blow and headbutt as much you want haha

To each his own but...the career mode looks way too good to pass-up in this game. Not too mention 4 levels of difficulty and the reviewers have said the AI is one of the highlights this time. Playing offline this year could be the deepest experience.

The upload your own pic thing is nice as well. Adds a perfect touch to the CAB. Too bad they wont have asics and winnings in the game. I haven't seen them in the video of "customization". Winnings should be in the game, asics I can understand why that wouldn't be in there.

the online play is sooo ****ing bad sometimes, it rarely lags but, random disconnects are pissing me off!!!! EA servers are always a little iffy on the first week of a newly released game. Hopefully it'll work itself out.

no ea servers are always a little glitchy during the first week of a game's launch. It should be alright after a week or so, go to the FNR4 nsb thread and check out the temp. fix i provided, it should help.

im sure ill learn the sticks fine. but you have to understand us that only used buttons on fight night round 3, its quite a learning process now. just to become comfortable with it.

He dropped me in the 4th but I was back up...I was winning THE ENTIRE FIGHT and in the 7th somehow he knocked me down...WITH A PUNCH I BLOCKED...replay proved it. And he won...wow

I used the sticks on FNR3, so this will be no different.

Going to wait another day and check out more reviews before I decide whether or not to purchase it.

The only real thing that might stop me from buying this game, is the reviews about the legacy mode, and in particular; The awards being given out are flawed, and a bit silly, i.e. The prospect award going to a 5-0-1 instead of a 8-0-0. I will still probably get it though.

The training in legacy mode is regular sparring (that actually improves certain stats), dizzy sparring (where your health and stamina is low and you have to not get knocked down), heavy bag combo, heavy bag push (where you have to throw combos at the heavy bag and push it down a line - works different stats from the heavy bag combo training game), double end bag (you walk in circles around the double end bag to little triangles that light up and you throw combos within the lit-up triangles), and maize bag (bag swings up and down and you have to bob and weave side and side the amount of times the trainer says and then throw a punch at the end of each number).

Yes you can edit ring entrances on the PS3.

You can put your face on a boxer either if you have the PS3 USB camera hooked up or you can upload your face to PHOTO GAMEFACE (search for it online) and then download your face from the internet on your PS3.

Overall I've found the legacy mode on FNR4 much harder than the career mode on FNR3. My record right now is 8-6-0, whereas it was about 36-1-0 on FNR3 career mode. Also, you have a message center in FNR4, where the trainer sends you messages about you moving up/down in rank, who the new champ is in the division, and other useless ****. Really, the message center is kind of useless. The huge difference between legacy mode and career mode is more training games, a calender system where you pick the exact date for your fight, and more fighters to choose from when picking your next bout. Oh, and obviously there are many more fighters in a division, and you can move up in weight class (although I haven't gotten even close to that yet :thumbsdow).

The real difference I think in the game is the new physics. Makes it much more realistic and if you really get used to the game and the movements of the boxers, you can really kick someone's ass if all they do is spin the analog stick **** knows where.

i love how in legacy mode u can customize title holders and rankings before u begin, and also upload other fighters to the weight divisions from ur hard drive. thats absolutely amazing

I knocked Hatton down 4 times in rounds 3, 4, 5 and then KO in 7th

That just sets up the power punches....I think it's too imbalanced.

I Just had my first online fight I was Tyson and the other guy (or girl) was James Toney I got knocked down in the 4th but I knocked him down in the 5th and again in the 6th they were average KD's nothing real flashy,

but then in the 9th he entered the zone where you get dazed and he tried to clinch but I stepped back and let fly with a haymaker uppercut and Toney's fat ass stumbled backwards until he hit the ropes and then he fell flat on his face :D and he couldn't get back up so I won. :boxing:

I did that with EA cricket 2007. (and earlier editions). There is a programming glitch that means the batsman (batter) cant pick up the ball just outline lefg stump if its full. He plays the wrong line 9/10 and gets out.

I lost my first 3 fights (the first day I bought it)

Then I played world champion mode and my record on that is 41-4 and got ranked like 30th in the UK.

man, online records can be so deceiving! Obviously a lot of the top guys with hundreds of wins actually aren't that good, but it goes the other away around sometimes too!!

Last night I was having a hard time getting a fight and finally got an opponent lined up, his record was terrible, something like 8-36.

So I'm thinking, "oh great, another **** fight." Normally I would back out cuz I feel like I'm picking on ****ty opponents, but like I said I was having a hard time landing a fight, so I say screw it.

Heavyweights. He picks George Foreman. I pick jermain taylor cuz I thought he sucked. lol big mistake. First off, the guy actually was pretty damn skilled lots of bob & weave, good footwork, threw good combos so I have no idea whats up with his record maybe it was his friend playing who knows.

Anyways, one solid punch from Foreman to my Taylors chin and bam, flash knock down or instant stun. I had to box like crazy. somehow I eventually pulled off the win late, but after being knocked down three times and nearly out the last time (I rarely ever get up after 3).

He wants a rematch, I accept. This time I pick Ali and KO him in round 1. lol stupid taylor as heavyweight, EA needs to fix that!

If you like to counterpunch and play safe, Whitaker is a machine.

Sometimes I get caught by that, but generally, if hes out of range I won't go for the head. Because I will get countered and KTFO lol.

On the outside I usually keep em away with body shots and the occasional jab to the head. And lean back and block the body if he gets in, he can't reach my face.

Ahhhh I finally lost. I was on a long streak of wins then all of a sudden I met a spammer... usually my easiest fights. I couldn't do keep up with his rythim of punches. I felt unstoppable, obviously I'm not lol.

well, I came up just a bit short in the $5,000 Vegas tournament - got 2nd place. If I wouldn't have lost that last fight I would have got my free trip to Vegas and had a chance to compete in the nation finals.

Apparently it wasn't just the state finals I was in today, it was practically the entire west coast or least north west at least. There were people from canada, oregon, etc. there. Lots of good competition. I KO'd everyone they put in front of me, made it to the final fight and get this, the guy that beat me was the SAME NERD I beat two weeks ago!!! Unbelievable. The guy had a new style basically cheap as fuuck just body spammed the entire fight hardly never threw any head punches and his defense was improved. I got his energy down pretty far, but it was only a 6 round fight, so he won on points. So damn close!!!

I normally always beat body spammers, but this guys defense was pretty good so it was tough to win points/rounds. No doubt in my mind if it was a 10 round fight I would have got that ko. oh well

Watched a lot of videos online and i noticed most fighters have ***** tits. They all look a little chubby, from the videos i have seen tyson is the only one who looks well done. Just check out this pic of pacquiao:

Pacquiao in real life is ripped, but in the game he looks soft and he even has some ***** tits. Not that it will keep me from getting the game, but are all fighters like that?

Another questions, in the gameplay videos i have seen every fighter threw punches the same way, in round 3 everybody had a different style, i have only seen a few videos of round 4, but the one that stood out the most was a video of foreman. In the game he doesn't fight anything like he did in real life.

Lastly, i noticed that some people can spam the same punch over and over as fast as if they were throwing combinations without any penalty.

Any help?
