View Full Version : What are you getting yourself for Christmas?
Tha Playa 12-06-2004, 02:29 PM I'm thinking about getting a new TV. I have a 50 inch "oldschool" bigscreen. The picture is starting to look kinda bad, so I'm thinking about springing for a 42 inch plasma. Just hate to spend all that $$$$. What are you guys gonna buy for yourselves?

Mr. Beelzebub 12-06-2004, 02:38 PM Funny, I was just thinking about getting me a new plasma TV also. Expensive, but sure as hell worth every penny.
Tha Playa 12-06-2004, 03:30 PM At Sam's club, they have a 42inch plasma for $1,995. About as cheap as I've found so far.
Deacon Frost 12-06-2004, 03:41 PM If things go well, a '93 Toyota Supra RZ.

Damn, I was at Sam's this Sunday and I was looking at that same TV. I am probably gonna get it this weekend.
The Mouse 12-06-2004, 04:40 PM This Christmas I'm going to buy myself some theology books that I've wanted from Fuller’s. Other than that, I'm really looking forward to giving the presents that I’ve bought for my friends and family. When you find a perfect gift for someone, matching it to who they are and putting so much time into it, it really makes you feel good to see their expression of gratitude and happiness. Isn’t that what the whole gift-giving thing is supposed to be about? (=
Purity 12-06-2004, 05:19 PM i'm going to be a lazy piece of **** all throughout december. i will get to work late and leave early. the only thing i'll do here is post on global and return calls. i already started last week.

Purity 12-06-2004, 06:45 PM Who the **** wants to get a credit card on new years day.
millions of dip****s who want to transfer balances from holiday spending.
handjobs4dollars 12-06-2004, 06:55 PM I hate balance tranfers so much. ****ing moron it says 'as low as 2.99" not 2.99 learn to read jackass.
Purity 12-06-2004, 06:59 PM regardless of it saying 'as low as' or not, it still says 2.99. but i deal w/ the same ****. we always have to make up for the advertising gimmicks. that's why my #1 line is:
"you have my commitment that i'm gonna get you the best program that you qualify for."
handjobs4dollars 12-06-2004, 07:10 PM Also people need to learn what the prime rate is.
GeNeRaL 12-06-2004, 09:54 PM as far as the tv thing...
do you care about saving space and weight or a clearer, better picture? cause if it's the picture you want, the plasmas still arent as good as Tubes or DLP's still.
Fallout 12-06-2004, 10:06 PM Also people need to learn what the prime rate is.
Have you had anyone ask you to lower it yet?
Curly Howard 12-08-2004, 12:30 AM I just want a corner kit. If I don't get it I'll probably buy it myself.
No-Swell - a must have when your boxer sustains bumps and bruises. It's important to keep it immersed in ice so that it is as cold as possible.
Spare Mouthpiece - it's always good to have an extra mouthpiece on hand for any unforeseen occurrences.
It should be form fitted to your mouth so that it will be more comfortable and won't come out as easily.
Vaseline - used to rub on a boxer's face to keep the skin moist.
Ice Bag - helps keep any swelling down and cool the boxer off.
Cornerman's Towel - to wipe the boxer clean of any sweat or blood.
Gauze - Should securely support the hand. Length, width, and material should conform to event regulations.
Trainer's Tape - used to secure shoe and glove laces, as well as add further security to the handwrap.
Scissors - to cut wraps, tape, etc.
Punch Mitts - used to help warm-up the boxer prior to competition.
Water Bottle - used to easily administer water in the corner.
Ring Bucket - used when a boxer rinses his mouth and to catch the water used in the corner.
nance 12-08-2004, 12:32 AM I want a vacation. Alone.
Fallout 12-08-2004, 12:33 AM Also, maybe some lessons on how to use that stuff. Most people have no idea how to use a cold iron. They push the swelling away, insted of pushing it down. Pushing the swelling away works in the short term, but it comes back in about 2 rounds.

Yep, I have a great video on how to corner a fighter. I picked up a few things from it. Last time I cornered someone I only brought a towel and water with me.
