In reference to Pugilist's questions about the history of Globalmma... I felt like I'd answer some of them in their own post, rather than making people mine through a 5 page ****fest to get some answers from the source.
PS: Whichever uptight analite decided to move my off-topic topic out of the off topic forum the time before last... hands the **** off, fat boy. There's nothing special ed about what I write, 'cept maybe those who read it sometimes.
1) Me, Wondermut & Adam were directly responsible for the creation of this site, as I remember it. Adam own3d the domain. Wondermut took own3rsh1p of all server-related responsibility. All I did was help to implement the VBulletin board, and assist with upgrades once or twice. I had admin status for a little while, but after months of not logging on, they relieved me of that. It's all good.
2) People at Sherdog are an angry bunch. I helped in similar capacity over there as well. Me and Jeff, through mutual conversation, realized the potential of his community. Me and Garrett rolled them over from a free EZBoard to a UBB almost overnight. They went from 1,500 at that point, to 10 times that within months. It's still growing too. I'm very happy for Jeff and his mini-empire. Although some people still harness aggression towards me having a little fun with my "duty" over there (it's the internet, I was never that serious), I'm neutral to it all. My name's out there though, that's for sure. If you don't know it, and you go to any of these sights... you've been half asleep, or not paying attention.
3) Tanner's a great guy, and we've been friends for a long time now... we've talked sporatically since 99, but our involvement in Sherdog made things a little more personal. Before long, as of about 3 years ago, it was nightly drinking & mma fight viewings.
4) My only current internet-based obligation is for the company that employs me. I do nothing voluntary for any sites, mma or otherwise, at the present time. Don't think I wanna, either.
5) 2004's been wicked for me. My daughter got taken, my mom died, I lost and found a job, and I've had to relocate. Recently, I drove my car off the side of the freeway at 70mph, completely totalled my vehicle, and lost my license for what may be 6 months but could be longer. I'm still caught up in the mental aftermath of all those things. On top of that, health conditions beyond my control or understanding have taken me out of active Martial Arts competetion indefinitely, per doctor's orders.
PS: PG, not sure who ya are or where you came from, but you seem level. Good to meetcha.
