OH!
wait!

Led Zep is the best band of all time. if you disagree you are wrong and have no rational justification to defend whatever competitor you may try to put against them.

Just for the fun of it, how does your opinion become a fact?

Just for the fun of it, how does your opinion become a fact?

just for the fact of it- vocal talents, lyrical content, guitar licks, guitar solos, the best drummer of all time, overall album- as well as song- production,
greater financial gain than anyone in their time showing the ability to not only stablize but THRIVE the ever increasingly dog-eat-dog music industry,
the ability the play unbelievably great live with a guitarist on heroin and a drummer drunk off his ass, the willingness to play various songs live for 20+ minutes & carry shows longer than 3 hours even though it was completely unnecessary due to the fact that they were already the biggest band during the time jamming soldout show therefore rationalizing sheerly only the love of the music as an explanation, first band to give rock n' roll a hard edge therefore paving ways for the future acts such as black sabbath, van halen, and metallica, AND most importantly anyone's inabbility to cite any single artists or collaborators that have attributed more of the above than Led-word to the muther****er-Zepplin

Purity
11-25-2004, 02:52 AM
oh and i also forgot to mention the extremely hard knack of collaborating blues with rock n' roll into a sound that everyone loves, along with carrying every album into a completely different style that 90% of listeners fell in love with everytime a new album got released. to this day i can't site one single band that can change their style and still have the majority of their originial fans gung ****ing ho over em.

The first part of your post is your opinion, and a most great bands in the Zepplin Era wrote, recorded, and played there music while being ****ed up on drugs and alcohol like only a rockstar can. As for the rest of your post, I dont have the knowledge of the music or the era to come up with any kind of arguement for it.........

And I'm kinda bored, I dont wanna argue with Tony, its no fun for people like me, I was just curious because when it comes to music, food, and other ****, people have different tastes, just because one person likes somthing, doesnt mean everyone will, and if you went by most records sold as a base for your fact, 50 Cent would be the best ever. Which he is not.....

the only part of my first part that was opinion was the drummer part. most people that will argue that will site peart or moon. at THAT point then we could delve into the whole 'it's yer opinion' arguement.
the rest of the first paragraph was just taking into context the other contributions that, by themselves are no better than great, but combined make a band legendary. as a matter of fact, the only reason i stated the drugs & alcohal thing was because of watching bonzo pound a ton of beer on the dvd, get to the point of passing out halfway through "dazed and confused" and then go on to do the best solo i've ever seen in my life with "moby dick".

so you're gonna tell me that 50 cent has sold more records than the beatles. last time i checked, the only record he had was the most records sold in initial release date.

realkaps
11-25-2004, 03:15 AM

Purity
11-25-2004, 03:45 AM
think about it dude. if you had the beatles revolution, combined with the mass communication technology of today then 50 cent's record would have been shattered on sergeant pepper's release date.

Gotta love Led Zeppelin. I think half of the OT threads I started back at Sherdog were titled "Led Zeppelin" or some varaiation. I'm actually listening to "In My Time of Dying" on the Physical Graffiti album right now.

I just got through listening to "Simple Man" and my neighbor loves em. I've been trying to think of another group he talks about but I'm beginning to think it's Led Zeppelin.

If you guys would have been around in the early 80s you would hate all these bands by now. They were like pop music, everyone played them. Every time I hear ZZ Top's Tush I want to start killing anyone with a beard. Stairway to heavan, freebird, anything from Frampton, old Van Halen. It'll be the same with you guys in ten years when everyone's saying that smells like teen spirt or Jeremy were the best eva!
