Thats a huge sponser...
Yeah, Ive been to this event before; it's in my neck of the woods. I got a pic with Royce a year or so ago. Royler is the teacher of the guy who puts it on, Joe Hurst. He's a real good guy who gives discounts to law enforcement guys and is just real easy going. He used to save up his bucks to go to Brazil and train as often as he could(more common today, but kinda unheard of at the beginning of the NHB craze). He's the instructor of one of my captains, Capt. Moffit who is pretty good himself. I'll be there if anyone's goin. I'll get some of my buds to take off so we can show guys around or help out if we can. Royce is also a friend of Joe's and as I said appears at the tourney in the past as well as trains Joe and his guys, seminar wise. There are many other notable brazilian guys who are friends there too but right now their names escape me.

Yeah, I went to the tourney and had a ball; I actually screwed up and being my cynical dumb ass, missed most of day one's activities(Gi, mainly amateurs and/or kids). I went late thinking they'd be running behind and got to see only a few matches.
I was there on day two however and there was loads of good performances(no gi and pros) but horror of horrors .... Jeff Monson lost to that guy from Mark Laimons' team, Nelson was his last name. I just can't seem to remember that dude's first name. Everybody in the building wanted Nelson to lose due to previous bellyaching and arguing on one of his earlier matches which he successfully got an overtime after being declared the loser, which he won by virtue of more sub attempts or something like that. Damn, I was disappointed as was most of the crowd. Nelson had been cursing in front of the crowd which included lots of kids and families and disrespecting the judges including the ref and Joe, the host and generally acted like anything but a martial artist.
Anyway, I did meet a couple guys from the ATT, including Jeff and I also met Remco Pardoel and had a ball. Got some pics and bought dvd's and shirts/shorts.
Anyone else go?

Sounds like a good event less the temper tantrums. Post the pics!! I'm probably going to Gracie's in Ohio this year just to see what it's all about.

Roy won that fight. Or are you saying you thought he'd beat him worse?
