Been out for a while... nice to see the usual posters still posting; slowly, but at least this site is still up and running. Where to start? Been taking classes up at Fullers seminary to knock out a degree; should be done in two years in which time I’ll go into a full-time 2-year seminary. Bottom line, text books and manuscripts have been my reality.

I’m also now on the western territory board for the Salvation Army, I lead two bible studies every week, during my free time I volunteer at Covenant House where we rescue poor youth off the streets and set ‘em up pretty nice with food, housing, education, general help, counseling, jobs, etc... (If you saw some of the kids and people off the streets around here and heard their stories, it would rip your heart out.. really feels good to make a difference and help turn their lives around.) I act as assistant pastor for the Salvation Army in Torrance and help coordinate community outreach, diff. programs, and deal with church politics, (which made me age 50 years, lol). I’ve also done a few mission trips to various countries and am in the planning stages right now for another one to Belize where me and my team will go up there and put in a well in a little town that doesn’t have running water except for their pitiful little stream.

That’s a hint of who I’ve become. I still drink about 3-4 pots of coffee a day...well, other than that I’ve completely changed I guess. I only post now because I saw a thread about the Christian who tossed himself into the lion’s den, lol.. yea, dude was a moron. Wasn’t me though, lol, I’m not that stupid nor do I have anything to prove anymore like when I was in the cage. I also help out with prison and gang ministries.. so in a sense, my experience in the NHB atmosphere has helped me to feel a bit more empathy towards those in gangs, thus I’m able to help them out and counsel them more efficiently than if I hadn’t gone through all of that.

Bottom line, I’m back.. I’ll try and post every now and then, but I have been/ am pretty busy these days. (= That’s a good thing!

Damn bro, nice to hear everything that you're doin. Really. It feels good reaching out and helping people, doesnt it? The traveling thing kicks ass too. I'm hoping to do that next year with my church... we're starting this "global peace" thing where our small groups travel to help people and spread "The Word".

I am a counselor at The Billy Graham Cruisade this coming weekend, also helping the handicapped. You should come. Its at the Rose Bowl in Pasedena. Its gonna be off the hook.

On a side note, I dont really understand the whole "NHB experience" being related to feeling "empathy torwards those in gangs". I still train hard, still lookin to pick up some fights in 2005, and I don't look at MMA as me "needing to prove something" or as I'm affiliated with gangs. Gangs are childish, MMA is a sport man. What are you talkin about? Maybe I'm not understanding something.

**** yeah its gonna be packed. I can't wait. The Rose Bowl has somethin like 60,000 seats and I'm sure they'll all be filled. Its Billy's last ministry teaching, so its gonna rock! Yup, already got my counselor tag and my tag to help the handicapped. Its gonna be awesome, I really can't wait. Yea. Alcohol, drugs, cussing, fighting all the time, girls left and right, clubbing, bar hopping, training in nhb/mma, always have’n a chip on my shoulder and something to prove, not caring about my life or anyone else’s, showering myself in violence, s/m and bondage, living for the night life and hating the day.

That’s all behind me, lol. When people see me now they barely even recognize me because my looks, expressions, life, and heart have done a complete 180. I’m done with that life style; now I live a life that’s worth living. The void that I tried to fill with all that other stuff was never satisfied, now it is. Seeing as how there's no need in my heart for all the stuff mentioned in the first paragraph, I lead a pretty simple life... but don't underestemate simplicity!

I found that the more money I spent on all the crap, and the more physical pleasures I tried to attain for selfish desires, the cheaper I became. It's interesting to me that a life of so little can reap rewards so great; I'm still learning that, naturally.

just from curiousity, why do you list training in mma in your list of things that you've done a 180 from and mention now you have a life worth living without that stuff?

I mean you basically make it seem that training in mma is an equivelently bad thing to Alcohol, Drugs, etc.

Ever wonder why nobody ever finds Shiva or Ganesha? Where's the love for the Hindu religion? Where are the born again Hindus?.

But yeah, born again Christians piss me off as well. Always trying to force their beliefs on you. And they do it in such a way that they can say, "I never force my beliefs on anybody", but then they are always spouting how their life has changed for the better and how they are such a better person now and how it's great to be a born again Christian.
