The marketing plan for Blue Print 3 seems to be in full swing as Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z stirs the industry up with his latest tactics.

Jay recently called in to Chicago's WCGI radio and shed some light on the Def Jam departure, Death Of Auto-tune, his top 5 all time, Dj Webstar, and more.

On Leaving Def Jam:

"I just thought that at this point in my career, I shouldn't have a record deal--it's not consistent with the type of business that I've been doing. We did great business at Def Jam so I went to L.A. Reid and he gave me the green light to speak to Doug. Me and Doug had negotiations, I flipped the coin and lost--and paid a little more than what I should."

Death Of Auto-tune:

"When a trend becomes a gimmick, it's time to move on. I saw a Wendy's commercial and they're using Auto-tune, they're joking on it. It's like ok, enough of that."

On Dj Webstar:

"He's a young guy, so he probably doesn't have a full understanding of what I'm saying. Maybe he'll understand one day but right now, he's a young guy, he doesn't know any better."

Top 5 Of All Time:

Biggie

2Pac

Scarface

Eminem

Andre 3k

Nas not in the top 5? Perhaps there still some friction there?

Nas not in the top 5? Perhaps there still some friction there?

No, I don think so...I think Jay gave his top 5 favorites, instead of his top 5 greatest. he was in a rush, it was at the end of an interview.

Nas is gonna be on the BP3 from what i heard.
