i'm takin Marcus Davis, Hardy's been making a big deal that he's training with Freddie Roach but i think thats doing more harm than good, boxing and boxing for mma r two different beasts. imo Hardy's gonna get carried away trying to out-box Davis

Hardy is trying to talk his way up the rankings of the 170lb division without having to fight anyone dangerous. He thinks that by talking **** he'll get somewhere because he believes that trash-talking and all that will make him a star. Hardy knows Davis is the better boxer which is why he's been training with Freddie Roach. All he's doing is trying to make Davis angry enough that he comes out like Rory Markham and just swings without any regard for himself because it increases the chances that he can catch him coming in.

hardy made marcus's face a mess. He hurt marcus with a huge knee aswell. Quite an exiting fight all in all.

Jury is still out on Hardy I'm afraid. He didn't prove anything other than he can just about edge a guy who is a fringe guy at best. Taking nothing away from the win but Davis is no Swick, no Koscheck, no Fitch, no Alves, no Hughes, no Serra and certainly no GSP. He has a long long way to go. He can't rely on talking his way up the ladder without fighting anyone dangerous.

I wasn't claiming he deserves a title shot or anything, but Davis IS a legit fighter, and Hardy ruined him on standup, when Davis is meant to be a strong striker.

Hardy also showed decent ground defense, but I agree that he will have to sharpen up that aspect next time he steps up a level. Davis nearly got him with a couple of armbars which an elite would have probably finished him with.

Side note: Davis acted like a punk after the fight.
