Sometimes the Power of the Potato Nation is just too strong to be ignored, brother. For those of you who don't hang out in our forums section, you missed this recent brainstorm from "LargeMidget":
I was just thinking how cool it would be if the crowd chanted Fedor's name after the upcoming heavyweight belt unification match. Dana would probably **** his pants, and then hopefully get out the checkbook.

The point is of course that this fight doesn't truly determine the best heavyweight in the world because Fedor is still #1. Consider this the beginning of a virally coordinated effort to make this happen.

Despite some parade-raining by "My Fight Wiffa Cheeto," our friend "kadumel" took up the mantle and began promoting the idea on several MMA message boards. Though his thread on Sherdog was taken down for unknown reasons (maybe it was too awesome?), his thread on the UG is flourishing, with almost 100 responses, most of them positive — which inspired one supporter (or kadumel himself, it isn't really clear) to launch an official homepage for the movement, fedorchant.com. All from one little post on one little message board.

Is chanting "Fedor!" at UFC 100 a mature, respectful thing to do? No, probably not. And most of us know that the UFC's failure to sign Emelianenko has more to do with Sambo tournaments and Russian stadiums than a simple opening of the checkbook. But we're not gonna lie — if this actually came together, it would make us pretty freakin' proud. So if you know anybody going to #100, make sure to let them know about it, aight?

Now all we have to do is agree on the pronunciation: Is it "FAY-dor," "FEE-oh-dor," or "HYO-dor-ooh"?

I don't think Dana would let Lesnar fight Fedor without Fedor being contracted to UFC as he would have too much to lose!! I don't think Fedor would ever sign a UFC contract either so we are f*cked!!

MMA fans should shout "Fey-door-feyyyyy-doorrrr-fey-door" during the Lesnar-Mir 2 fight. I'll spread this news in twitter and diff. forums.
