glad to hear that Hov and i are on the same page, and thank you, Truth, for giving me the opportunity to preach some Andre 3000! he is definitely a strong member of my personal top 5, and we all know how i feel about Outkast as a whole... :D

Andre 3000 outshines every MC that he works with, regardless of the track. the more you listen to his music, the more you find yourself waiting for his verse. i would like to stress that i understand the boldness of this statement, especially considering the fact that he works mostly with Big Boi, who is a fantastic MC in his own right with an incredible amount of unrecognized talent, but with that being said...there's just something about Andre. it's just natural. he has a charisma that cannot be imitated or duplicated and it shines through with every verse. take international player's anthem for example...a track with 4 outrageously sick MCs, and yet Andre's verse just stands out. half the time i see the video on TV, the caption doesn't even say, UGK feat. Outkast, it says UGK feat. Andre 3000. and Big Boi's verse is HYPE as ****, but people just don't notice him like they notice Andre. in my opinion, that first verse makes the entire track.
there is something to be said for an MC who has survived hip hop's unforgiving test of time, especially when they have done so in a way which appeals so strongly to the true hip hop lovers (who respect him) as well as the ignorant members of the mainstream, who like him because he's catchy, but really have no idea of his greatness. Andre 3000 represents real hip hop, and something that i appreciate so much about him is that he has not scurried away from it like a lot of older artists have. he has not given up on it. his positivity is what sets him apart from so many of these artists who just keep whining and crying about hip hop being dead. all you have to do is listen to one verse of Andre's to know that it is alive and well. it will be a very sad day, the day that he stops releasing material. but he's given us enough thus far so if that day came tomorrow i wouldn't even be mad.

there were some mixtapes done with just his verses. one is called Whole Foods and the other is called Three Stacks. you could download em.
