JMM-PAC 06-06-2009, 05:59 PM yo dude, i have trained at gleasons gym, am from new york and its pretty close by. its a good gym and has alot of history there. but the pros there dont mess about, they have hard spars. but anyone can go there and train, but you have to pay and it aint cheap either lol. but they have all the eqiument you need for a good work out there, and you will learn alot watching the pros train and spar. yuri foreman is good, as are others. judah aint there no more, he left 2 years ago! the owner bruce is also a cool dude. and there are lost of world class trainers there, such as mark breland. get back if you need any more info, and gd luck if ya go! ironalex 06-06-2009, 07:37 PM yo man cheers for the info ima message you. peace j0kawild 06-06-2009, 11:18 PM Im interested in Mendez Boxing Gym, but how much r u paying at Gleason's??? ironalex 06-07-2009, 01:16 PM where the mendez one at? whats it like etc, why you want to go to it JayWater39 06-08-2009, 03:50 PM The gym that has had the most success in terms of golden glove champs and national champs is the south bronx pal . They,re not called that anymorre its called copz n kidz boxing club bc it isn't a city funded pal anymore. It's in Manhattan around 27th street JayWater39 06-09-2009, 02:46 PM whats the best gym for professionals not amateur for pros i guess gleason's ironalex 06-09-2009, 02:47 PM what about GYMU and kingsway? ironalex 06-09-2009, 02:48 PM for pros i guess gleason's what pros train at gleasons now? i kno zab left etc, thanks for the replies btw. j0kawild 06-09-2009, 04:07 PM The reason why I say I like mendez is because their very attentive of anyone training under them. I've heard a lot of good things from them and I tried their free try out. I don't know how good r they wit professionals and developement. For professional I guess gleason's cuz they've bn around the longest so they noe their way around the pro circuit. I think joan juzman and Paul malagnaggi train their. Wat I don't like about gleason's is that it is very expensive. It's $85 to use the facility and seperate from training, which could be $35 per hr. If Anyone knows about a cheaper way to train at gleason's for less please let me noe. |
