Sat. I forget that my sewing machine is on the ground behind my van. I get in and back up going on top of it.

How lucky am I? All I do is break the thread spool holder on top. It's metal. The case of the machine is metal. It's the mercedes of sewing machines. Thank God for Viking Husqvarnas. :-)

Tues. My other sewing machine beeps at me. "overloaded" it says.... which means something inside gave out. Possible a bearing thrown. I'm near the end of a job which is due the next day.

How lucky am I? The machine is under warranty. The sewing machine shop I bought it from and that does all my repairs loans me one. I pull an all nighter and get the job done on time. :-)

Thurs. My dishwasher is leaking suds because my Dad puts the wrong kind of soap in it. Floods the front of the kitchen. Not too bad. While I'm dumping the water out, I hear a loud noise coming from under the sink and look down. Water is pouring out. I open up and see it GUSHING out of the dishwasher hose that is SUPPOSED to be connected to the drain. Good golly that was a lot of water in a short amount of time. Run up the stairs, yell at Dad, get some towels. Go back downstairs and listen to my dad tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. GUSHER starts again. HA! Listening now Dad?

The water went into the walls and into my carpet in the dining room. Came VERY close to my china cabinet. YIKES!!! So now I have five noisey fans and one dehumidifier running in my kitchen and dining room. I have holes in the wall so the fans can dry out the walls and carpet. I have my china cabinet stuff on the table, the stuff from the cupboards on the counters and on more tables......looks like we're eating out this weekend.

How lucky am I? If my dad hadn't used the wrong soap, I may not have been keeping an eye on the suds that came out and therefore may not have caught the mess right away which lets mold develop. I also went and bought that new dishwasher I was going to get anyways. :-)

Despite the disaster of this past week, I feel damn lucky. :-)

How lucky are you?
