I am terrible at poker, but am just starting to get into it. Any of you guys play on a regular basis? Are you any good? I'm just starting to really learn the game and have a long way to go. Gonna start playing a few times a week with friends and also online. Once I feel comftorable I'll probably start playing for money and get addicted. :)

Talk to Zen, he is a huge poker fan. I play also, but not as much as he does.

Only play for a little cash, nothing to break the bank thats for sure. this winter we're gonna have a poker nite once a week for about 20 bucks a head in a play till one wins all type thing. good stuff :)

James, if you are playing texas hold 'em never beat on the strength of your hand. Bet on what you think the strength of your opponets hand is.

For example

Your two cards are K 10
Your opponet has 10 10

on the flop comes down K 10 8

Now, your opponet checks the bet and you bet 50$, he then comes back and raises you 200$. Its pretty clear that he has a better hand than you. Also, if you want to win some big money, don't play many hands at the start of the game. Fold basicly everything unless its something really strong (pocket Aces, Ace King suited ect.) Later on, you can start playing weaker hands. People will remember you as someone that doesn't play unless he has something good and that will let you take some really nice pots if you play correctly.
