k1 is much much better than ufc, only it's all stand up

k1 combines stand up techniques from Muay Thai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muay_Thai), Karate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karate), Taekwondo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taekwondo), Savate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savate), San shou (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_shou), Kickboxing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickboxing), traditional Boxing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing), and other martial arts to determine the single best stand-up fighter in the world

there are barely any weight classes, only one belt(i believe) and most k1 guys are true warriors, these guys are super-human not to mention they each got about 100 odd fights upon retirement

mike zambidis(59(45ko's)-11) and he's only 28 years of age
buakaw por pramuk(187(47ko's)-20) and he's only 27

i think this sport is seriously underrated, **** ufc

Most good MMA fans know about K-1 (a lot of Mixed Martial Artists have come out of it). But if we wanted to watch kickboxing, we'd watch kickboxing. We enjoy grappling damnit!! :grr:

Also. K-1 had an MMA division up until February of last year. But they dissolved to form Dream with the help of some former Pride executives.

I'm fairly certain, correct me if I am mistaken, that it didn't show up because the term is too short, not because there are no discussion threads about the subject.

I've made plenty of K1 posts, I remember one specifically about Mike Zambidis. Palma is all about it as well.

Wow some of Mike Zambidis' knockouts are incredible I have never heard of K1 before but it looks very entertaining thanks for the video.

All I can say about K-1 is atleast they're reppin' kickboxing. But, f**k K-1, I'll watch Muay Thai all day everyday. K-1 stands for, not good enough for Muay Thai

No wonder the lone Muay Thai fighter in K-1 happens to be arguably the best in K-1.

K-1 is more like plain kickboxing than muay thai if you ask me. Buakaw killed(fig. speech) Kohirimaru with knees and they banned multiple knees. They dont allow elbows and leg kicks dont earn points. :nonono:

As much as I like Yodsanklai, Naruepol, Kaew, Malaipet, JWP. I rather watch K-1, the producing of it is better than any MT fight I have seen. lol
