Its a term thats used to discribe the soldiers on the ground that do the dirtiest fighting Tony. I don't see why you got so pissy about it.

disrespectful imo. the term was used by the military to the military. grunt is also described as one who performs mundane tasks. a general could describe that to another general but a civilian sitting comfortably at home comes off pretty disrespectful calling them grunts.

I think its very different in this case. Nigg*r was once used an term that was meant to be degrading towards black people. I don't remember grunt ever being used that way.

And whats offencive is the way everyone seems to be exploting what the soldiers are doing. For what? To sell bennie babies like Valor the Eagle who was born on September 11th? i compared ******* to grunt not because of their origination but because of their modern-day interpretations. when used by certain people towards certain other people, it's no big deal & vice-versa where it can be offensive. grunt is a term that's tied into being insignificant and if you're not in the war you have no right calling our boys insignificant.
and i'm not saying there isn't other offending **** out there. most of my political threads started are in reference to inappropriate ways various groups are addressing modern politics.

Some don't mind whereas some will openly whoop your civilian ass right there on the spot. Anyway, Im a sailor, not a soldier, so I can give a **** less. Anyway, props to all the forces serving America.
