it goes like this. i dont care if a rapper is frontin, as long as the album is a classic.

so if Nas wants to make Illmatic 2 pretending hes poor and from queensbridge still...

if it produces a classic album...go for it

If Jay-z wants to front like hes drug dealer still, if it produces another blueprint, go for it....

Growth is what makes an artists catalog so interesting, without it.. album messages and sound would sound indentical. Growth has given us some of the best albums ever. Blueprint alone is a jump from Reasonable Doubt.. maybe not fully in message but beat selection and song writing.

oh that kind of growth is fine. But I'm saying, when Jay isn't rapping about being a crack dealer, his albums are not as good.

So I say, grow musically, concept wise, but keep it street. Jay-Z's street life is what made him....why stop?

Unless of course he can find a way to make just as good music about being rich and married....but i don't think so.

go back to your roots and produce something as great as get rich

^exactly. I mean don't get me wrong, its cool to try new song writing techniques, new beats....but don't change so much that u get away from what made u great in the first place.

yea alot of that is going on the game today, many are straying away from their success to try some expirimental ****. rb albums, rock albums, whats next polka dancing or some ****
