He doesn't owe anybody anything.

In fact, chances are it won't be a classic.

So if it is, it will be a pleasant surprise.

Not sure. But you know the production will be really good.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

The Chronic was groundbreaking, and because of many of the tracks, one of the Top 10 or 20 rap albums of all time IMO...

2001 was an above average effort

I don't think he has another "Chronic" in him, so either he puts out a great companion that makes everyone remember the G Funk gangsta 1992 sound and we call it a classic but say he hasn't moved forward, or he tries something different and enough people don't jump on board because it's not the 'old Dre'

I'd actually probably rather him not rap on a lot of the tracks and worry about production....it's becoming a lot more blatant he doesn't write his own lyrics lately. No need to have much on-tape appearances...he's even said he doesn't like how he sounds on a record.

I kind of want to see something more like "Presents the Aftermath" giving some new voices a chance to rap over his beats, and maybe a second disc with people paying tribute to him by contributing to collaborations/duets

I think Jay-Z has written a lot of Dre's stuff...

On the Relapse album, where Dre starts out the song by singing, he sounds like he's forcing it for sure, and of course we already had the leak where Em was rapping Dre's verse on "Crack a Bottle"...The Watcher, Forgot About Dre...that was Jay-Z and Eminem writing too

That J Flex song "Who Been There Who Done That" - Flex claims he was writing Dre's songs too

He has 2 solo classic albums.. Chronic and 2001 and has produced classic albums for other artists. GRODT, Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, No One Can Do IT Better, Straight Outta Compton, etc.

The guy breathes classic.
