Rattlesnake Canyon is on fire and so far seems to be out of control. I want to know how far that is from my house. Someone told me five miles.

you'd feel it if it was 5 miles away. trust me. i lived in foothill ranch when that **** went up in flames. from 10 miles, from 15, from 5, from a few blocks away..... you can feel the heat, MAD ash... like white everywhere.... HOT as hell and the air just smells like ****.

It turned out to be only 3-4 miles north of us, but the wind was blowing it east. The only reason we didn't feel it was of the hills. Rolling hills between us and the fire. We are blessed to have a golf course between us and there. Fortunately, they put the fire out at around 500 acres. Still scary as we haven't replaced our roof yet. Doing that soon.

That fire was right by some of the barracks and near the hospital on base. Scary.
