Ok I'm looking over his record and I noticed that right before his fight with Evander Holyfield he fought to a 10 round draw against the 7-9-1 Marion Wilson. Did anybody happen to catch this fight and was the decision controversial?

Mercer was a tough mother****er, but he blew hot and cold. so it's not surprising that he would show and give less than his best effort against lesser guys.

Did not see the fight, but would peep it. not sure if footage exists.

Some times Mercer was utter rubbish other times he was good, If he beat Ferguson he would have had a big fight against Bowe but he blew it.

I have not seen the fight but Marion Wilson was undoubtedly one of most durable men to ever box and from what I've heard he put it all together in that fight, deserving to win the decision which he wasn't given.

Mercer also struggled with another game journeyman Jesse Ferguson. He was inconsistent without a doubt.

Wilson by the way is 52 years old now and fought Oliver McCall at age 50 two years ago.

He holds an amazing record of having never being knocked out despite facing Ray Mercer, Andrew Golota, Ike Ibeabuchi, Oliver McCall, Sam Peter, Hasim Rahman, Oleg Maskaev, Shannon Briggs, Jeremy Williams, Francois Botha, Tyrell Biggs, Kirk Johnson, Vaughn Bean, Zeljko Mavrovic, Jimmy Thunder, David Izon, Carl Williams, Greg Page, Derrick Jefferson, Larry Donald, Tony Thompson, Chazz Witherspoon...

Aside from the Mercer draw, he defeated Mike Hunter and Corey Sanders as well as some undefeated prospects.

Marion Wilson was one of the toughest and most durable fighters your ever likey to meet.

Out of 57 fights in the Heavyweight division, Wilson has only been stopped once and that was due to cuts. He turned pro in 1989. He fought the following fighters and all could not stop him, a remarkable achievement in it's self.
Francois Botha, Tyrell Biggs, Jeremy Williams, Andrew Golotax2, Vaughn Bean, Ray Mercer, Zeljko Mavrovic, Kirk Johnson, Shannon Briggs, David Izonx2, Obed Sullivan, Orlin Norris, Ike Ibeabuchi, Corey Sanders, Greg Page, Ezra Sellers, Oleg Maskaev, Larry Donald, Hasim Rahman, Tony Thompson, Samuel Peter, Oliver McCallx2, Chazz Witherspoon.

His last fight was in 2007, against Oliver McCall, They say anyone can be knocked out in the Heavyweight Division, This line dosen't apply for Wilson.

He always wanted a showdown with Mike Tyson, but never got it. Could of Tyson knocked him out? who knows, but highly unlikely. He finished his record 57 fights, 12 wins, 41 losses, and he scored 5 ko's.

That's a pretty damn impressive list of people.
