Yeah I listened to several of these in 8th/9th grade. Some others I listened to around that time:

A lot of Cash Money, Do or Die, AZ and Nas too.
The earliest stuff I was listening to was R&B/Soul and the Hammer/Vanilla Ice/Fresh Prince stuff. As far as serious, acclaimed rap/hip hop it was probably Resurrection and E. 1999 Eternal. I remember listening to those albums in elementary.

i grew up on my brothers hand me downs, lots of wu stuff. we had 36 chambers, illmatic, the diary, bone thugs....

no way out is still one of my favorite cd's, that was one of the first cassettes i bought. Then i got Harlem World when that came out, and Life after death. I was a bad boy stan :evil:
The rappers i have listened to the most in my life are nas, AZ, dmx, mobb deep, biggie, Big L, wu-tang, jay-z, and the lox.
