"The New York Bad" Ass Phil Baroni suffered a torn medial collateral ligament and a possible torn meniscus in his knee yesterday while working on his wrestling. The injury means that he will not be able to compete at UFC 50. "A lot of guys are writing me off - some don't have me ranked in the top 10 anymore," Baroni said. "But I'm going to use that as motivation to fight my way back to the top. My goal is still that title! I'm a fighter, not an athlete who fights. This is just another fight for me on my way back to the top."

Not in the top 10 ANYMORE..........who had him there to begin with?
Prangley was gonna maul him anyway. Phil Broknee (credit cesaro) got lucky.

I was gonna say have Salaverry cut to 185 and look for someone else to fight Cote but apparrently that's the rumour on what is going to happen. So if that's the case then who faces Cote now?

I just read that Eastman vs Cote is back on. Salaverry will have to pull a Jhun.

Hmm interesting. Weird that Eastman could be back in if he is suspended..... He's a better matchup for Cote though. Eastman doesn't have the ground game that Ivan does. Ivan should beat Prangley I think.

I have no idea. My instructor Lee Mein broke his hand in a fight 5 months ago and has fought twice since then and is slated to fight on the 25th again while his hand is still partly broken. His opponent for his upcoming match pulled out do to a broken hand suffered in training. I don't get how these things happen this much.

I've never been hurt in training. My guess is that they are dumbass that won't tap. The worst I've had was hearing a popping sound when I was getting armbared. Then the guy let go before I could tap. Or they train with the wrong people.

I hurt my shoulder last class so it can happen man. I was doing a arm drag takedown and he jumped up on my back. I managed to throw him but he knocked me to the ground before I was ready and I felt a pop in my shoulder. I was ok a few hours later but it hurt like a ***** for awhile.

That's not a real injury though. My arm will pop from armbars all the time or my knee from a heel hook but I've never been hurt.
