if you ever wanna get away from big hotels, americans, and civilization in general, go to roatan. here ya go.... sorry bout all the pics of the reptiles, but I couldn't help myself.
here's some of our beach at Foster's, the "resort" we stayed at.

the brown water was a little brackish pond that emptied into the ocean right in front of our cabana.

the water and the reef (which was only 50 feet out into the ocean) were immaculate.

basilisk, aka "monkey lala" or "jesus lizard"

iguanas, some as large as 7 feet long, were ALL OVER the island.

and some really cool looking anoles. i caught several of 'em and they bit the **** outta me. these suckers were HUGE for anoles... 7-8 inches long.:

we hiked up a jungle trail to the top of carambola mountain and got this shot:
