View Full Version : Should I quit smoking weed?
I'm 26 and smoke weed on a pretty regular basis. I have a step kid who's 11 and I wonder how bad of an influence this is on him.
I don't do it in front of him or any **** like that, but he knows I do it. He's never seen me, but he's heard his mom *****ing me out about it.
Could this be a very negative life influence on him? Will he think it's OK and give it a try the first chance he gets? Will he report me to D.A.R.E.? Anytime paranoia kicks in thats what I start thinking. Will he despise me, think I'm a drug addict and never try it himself? There's any combination of things that could happen I guess.
Anybody have stoner parents as kids? If yes what'd you think about it?
I always say I'm gonna stop, but always buy one more sack. Fact is, it's my stress reliever. I don't go out and party, I rarely drink, it's my stress relief.
Thanks for any input!
handjobs4dollars 09-03-2004, 01:09 AM Have you ever sucked a dick for weed????
I don't find much wrong with weed. If it's not affecting your life of those around you, what's the problem???
My mom was still smoking weed when I was 18 but she also has a masters degree so I don't think I respected her less.
Were homeless. But I mean that's not that big of a deal, it's only temporary until we get in the shelter. But ****, I gotta smoke some weed to relieve this stress. **** a house payment, I got's to hit that 'dro.
Purity 09-03-2004, 01:20 AM **** dude. are you serious about being homeless? if so, then i wish the best for you and YES, quit the weed.
weed, just like any other drug, is harmless unless it's being abused. go back and read your posts in this thread. then make the call on the degree of harm it's causing.
nance 09-03-2004, 04:36 AM I say quit and this is why I say quit. But also, as a parent, you are setting the example. How to expect him to have respect for you if you don't even follow the rules?
Cannabis can be smoked with or without tobacco, filtered through water, cooled or inhaled using all manner of drug paraphernalia, or simply eaten. If eaten, it's hard to calculate when it will take effect - especially if you've wolfed down a Billy Bunter sized Vegeburger beforehand.
The physical effects of too much dope can result in bloodshot eyes, a dry mouth and sloth-like reflexes and some people have reported feeling anxious and paranoid after a heavy session.
Side effects: For many, smoking dope is as natural and everyday as a brew of hot tea, and they find the drug helps make their life a little less stressful without unduly affecting their judgement or abilities.
For others it can have quite the opposite effect, turning ordinary folk into unbearable, spaced out, lazy hippies. A night of industrial strength spliffing can transform you into a giggling oaf who will burst into laughter at wholly unamusing incidents and find deep intellectual depth in the Spice Girls' lyrics.
Your trousers and sofa will become riddled with burn marks from dropped spliffs, and you will have to face the regular dilemma of being hit with the munchies at 3am only to find that you were too out of it to get the shopping in.
This can result in regular users turning into lazy gits whose crap diet turns their body into a most unattractive proposition.

I would smoke weed everyday, but why not?
1. I know smoking weed can damage your brain.
2. When I smoke weed it's for get a help with creativity: playing guitar, reading some books, watching films...
3. I know people who smoke everyday and now they need more quantity to get the effects, thus it is so bad...
4. For you Zen: We can say "Yes, try to leave it" or "No!! it rules and you can be the neo-guru!!" ....And?? You're going to do that you want, it's a drug, has a good taste, blahblahblah and it's hard to leave...Think about your benefits and loses, think about your enviroment, your family, compare and then you will know what do with weed...
Curly Howard 09-03-2004, 04:36 PM my parents smoked pot and drank and didn't try to hide it. Eventually I did it too for a while and quit cause i hated the way it made me feel. I still drank alot and did other drugs. I quit everything when my kids got old enough to start asking questions about it.
I can't say 100% that i did it because my parents did but my friends who had parents that drank and smoke did it too.

there is only 1 option. Quit. Stress relief huh? sounds like bull**** and an excuse. you want to relieve stress work out hard as ****. take your hate out on the iron/bag/etc..... you will feel 100000 times better than smokin a dubbie.
Lot's of good replies in here, and Tony I was just kidding about being homeless, I've got a nice house in the 'burbs.
I think I'm going to quit doing it on a regular basis. If I'm at a party or whatever I may smoke, but I'm not going to have it in my home anymore. I think it sets the example that it's ok to smoke weed, which I think it is, but I'd prefer that my kids not do it.
It does make me lazy to where I don't do other things I like such as lifting, and I eat like **** when stoned.
I especially liked Vulgars post, I need to start training again and use that as my stress relief!
Thanks for the input, anymore is appreciated.

You mean they don't have internet access in the shelters?
Bluecifer 09-04-2004, 03:50 PM I was always jealous of my friends who could smoke with their parents. I doubt you're doing any harm to them, however, the very fact that you've broached the subject implies that part of you has already decided that you SHOULD quit. It's unhealthy and you'd be better off without it. I on the other hand just some bong hits with a Xanax and I feel great. But hey, I had to work on ****ing Saturday so **** it.
VulgarTheClown 09-04-2004, 04:12 PM sounds like a load of **** to me.
as for the kid situation he will either resent you and never do it or think its soooo cool and become a stoner. either way its NOT a positive outcome.
I'm high as a kite right now. I've smoked 8 bowls since 3pm today. Eating Butterfinger BB's and drinking chocolate milk right now! Peace.

Yesterday was my end of the road smoking spectacular celebration. Smoked a helluva lot of weed 2. But I quit, as of today and won't smoke again for at least 2 months.
