is what goes through my mind when I think of this fight cuz it would be THE single boringest fight in fighting history. and that includes boxing and street fighting and every other type of fighting.

I love machida and think that his style is good against any style except for silva's. I think those two against each other is a scary matchup. scary as in, I would be afraid of falling asleep during the fight.

I pick machida to win but I'd rather not see this fight ever happen, even though they are 2 of the top 3 most skilled fighters in the world right now.

Well it can't be any worse than Silva's last fight I mean that was MMA's version of Wlad-Ibragimov

Silva & Machida are friends, also if I remember correctly Silva has admitted Machida beats him when they spar or something like that.

personally, I think St.Pierre should be p4p#1. He has accomplished more than Silva.

I would put Silvia, St.Pierre then Machida. But you have to admit, winning every round since being in the UFC is really impressive. Especially against good comp.

Now, w/o counting accomplishments I'd pick Machida at #1, St. Pierre at #2 and Silva 3rd

I'm obviously a huge GSP fan but without bias, I'd put him number #2 in the UFC. I'd have Silva #1 because he cleaned out the division and he has virtually no competition left which is what fighting at LHW proves. Machida would be #3. If GSP can get by Alvez, then I'd move GSP up one and put him at #1 P4P.

Anderson is quickly becoming one of the most underrated fighters in the world after his last two fights. He is becoming overlooked when he shouldn't be. This fight will never happen so it's pointless to even think about.

of course. I'm very impressed with Machida and I do think he'll be p4p#1 some day, but he isn't right now. If he beats Rampage, Griffin and Rua then he would definitley be #1.

why wouldn't this fight happen? Silva has already fought a couple of fights at LHW, which shows that he wants to fight at that weight and there is no way in hell anyone even gives Silva a minor challenge in the MW division.

I couldn't agree more. There was a thread not too long ago after the Leites fight which said something along the lines of Silva being boring. However, the main problem is that people were too used to seeing Silva KO his opponents and as soon as he doesn't TKO/KO one opponent, people feel like he's fighting "worse" than before which is just ridiculous.

He fought the Leites fight intelligently and securely by fighting his style rather than Leites' style. People should blame Leites for attempting take-downs when he knew Silva wouldn't budge. Look at Silva's previous opponents and you'll see he either TKO/KO'ed them (Leben, Franklin (twice), Mardquardt, Cote (injury), Irvin) or submitted them (Lutter, Henderson). I think it's absurd that people are overlooking his P4P status and people are underrating his ability all of a sudden.

actually both guys are VERY elusive and VERY accurate strikers.

and thats why it would be a super boring fight cuz both fighters would know that the other is very accurate and they would both be extremely careful of each others strikes.

Yes mate thats the reason why Silva hasnt made the move straight up to lighthaevy. If he would have and Machida wasnt on the scene he would have got a shot by now.
