the full album "Depart From Me" is.....available already as well, although it doesnt sound mastered. (Thanks KillaCam). It's experimental, different, and awesome. The EP has it's moments as well. I'll wait until I've heard the retail version thoroughly(you can get a deluxe edition available for Pre-order at www.definitivejux.net), but this is possibly going to be hip hop album of the year.

side note:when will the Mos Def album leak?

Yeah, Cage confirmed the leaked version, "Yes I am aware DFM leaked someone went thru a great deal to edit name out poorly from a press copy and it's a lower sound quality Enjoy". I've actually only heard it once so far, been kinda busy lately. I'm gonna wait for the retail to leak for further listens aswell. Too early to comment on it.

The EP has grown on me alot though since I first heard it, heard it atleast 6 times just driving around doin **** cause of how short it is.

If you've never heard of Cage I wouldn't start with this EP though, I'd download his albums in succession to actually hear/listen to how his music has progressed over his career.

Damn, I didn't even realize It's already 2 weeks til The Ecstatic, should leak very soon unless it gets pushed back...can't wait for that album. Not a single bad track has leaked from it so far...I have a feeling It's gonna be better than both The New Danger & Tru3 Magic.

1. I love this new experimental sound. I've always said, if Cage were to work with someone like Trent Reznor, it would be amazing. this is a step in the exact direction I, as a fan, randomly hoped for. the title track, "I found my mind in Conneticut" are especially awesome. I'm loving the whole thing, except the "i used to be fat" song.

2. I'll be checking for a leak on that Mos daily. I loved the New Danger, and you could tell that True Magic was just a bunch of demos thrown together to honor his recording contract.

I rank the new Cage LP below his previous two efforts. I wanted a more hip-hop sound, I'll be honest...

I'd never download a free album.

My whole agenda is to make sure the artists lose money.

Downloading it when it's free defeats that purpose.

Meaning fuсk off, Godzhand.

I'll never listen to that... Ya can't make me.

Jack, I pray that you never, ever, take my advice.

It's definitely not better than Hell's Winter. That album is un-****ing-touchable. What album was before that one? Either Nighthawks, or Weatherproof. If you mean just the solo albums, I'd say it's on the level of Movies for the Blind, but I won't argue you if you think it's not. MFTB is like the audio version of the movie Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas. No plot, random story lines, impossible to not pay attention to.

Yeah, from what I remember there were 3 tracks that I thought were meh...the fat kid song was one, Dr. Strong still isn't anything special to me and I forget the third I wasn't pleased with, other than that I like this new direction, something fresh. The title track is probably the best one and he murders the intro/outro. I think he should of switched out "It's the 80's Again" with the Fat Kid song, and "Tongue In A Sharks Mouth" for Dr. Strong & Hell Oh for that third track that's slipped my mind.

Good to see him progress as an artist, I was laughing almost all the way through "Kick Rocks" hahah. I'm still gonna wait for the grouprip to leak to give it more listens, I can't stand hearing albums low-quality.

Yeah, judging from what you said in the other thread about the EP, I didn't think you would like it much. I agree though, Hell's Winter is a classic, no question, I'd probably say Movies For The Blind is slightly better, but this is a solid effort aswell imo.

Listened to it again today, had the tracklist have been:

1 Nothing Left To Say
2 Beat Kids
3 It's The 80s Again
4 I Found My Mind In CT
5 I Lost It In Haverton
6 Kick Rocks
7 Hell Oh
8 Tongue In A Sharks Mouth
9 Depart From Me
10 I Never Knew You

It'd have been much better than what it's going to be released as (imo). I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cop it when it drops, but I'm just gonna make this as the new cd and pray he releases a dirty version of the free EP so It'll flow a little better without the edits.
