Infern0 05-23-2009, 11:05 PM England will get hammered as always lol, im not even watching its so pointless, aussie is in a different league to us.

Every 2 years, alternating between being in Engalnd and Oz
Charles Darwin 05-24-2009, 04:05 PM It's every 18 months.
woftam 05-24-2009, 07:02 PM England are a different team in their own country with the ball swinging & seaming around. If it was played elsewhere I'd probably pick the Aussies. Having said that I get the feeling Mitchell Johnson will be a real handfull with a swinging ball. It should be a close series but I think the poms will win just.
Dan... 05-24-2009, 07:02 PM The Aussies will win comfortably I think. We will win the first two or three tests and wrap it up fairly easily then the Poms will win one of the dead rubbers.

The first test is in Cardiff... bizarre choice of grounds if you ask me.
The pitch is supposed to be really good for spinners, everyone is saying that we should have Panasar and Swann. I personally think that this would be stupid as neither are half as neither are that good.

Our spinning stocks are not exactly high either, I'm no Hauritz fan that's for sure. I'd take Panasar any day.
adietheforestfa 05-25-2009, 06:20 AM Yorkshire have a young leg spinner who is rated highly. And he can bat a bit.
Maybe he will play a part before the end of the summer.

This is pretty close to my read on it.. I am encouraged by Phil Hughes scoring runs in the country comp over there, but he'll need to do it consistently and blokes like Ponting and Hussey are really going to discover the form of old.

Panasar has taken 6 test wickets all year. He has really hit a dip in form, we've got Swann who's been ****ing with the windies left handers a lot. As the Aussies have a few left handed batsmen I would rather have Swann than Panasar.
By far our best bowler at the moment is James Anderson, then probably broad, but Onions, sidebottom (if fit), Flintoff (if fit) and Harmison (if in form) give us some depth in our bowling.
We've also got some good batsmen at the moment in Bopara and Cook. I think Flintoff and Pietersen are no longer guarenteed a place in the team.
Infern0 05-26-2009, 06:17 PM Lol Australia will win by whitewash i guarentee it!

England have got a fair chance of a win, but they need to get a good start, if we go behind I don't think we'll be able to come back.
Dan... 05-26-2009, 06:39 PM Any pommies (or disloyal Aussies) wanna have a points bet on the series? My 100k against your 80k?

Oi that's enough of that son. :P
I simply think the poms will be hard to beat on their own turf and we are not anywhere near what we once were. I am quite happy to increase the wager if you so wish.

I haven't been following cricket a lot lately but surely these 2 would be among the first guys picked? One can move the ball both ways at pace and the other is one of the most gifted batsmen going around.
