i woulld say that they have the same amount of substance.

Chris
The OT stuff has alota historical stuff. The NT not so much Historical stuff.
Overall the OT has more to offer in terms of entertainmnet. - due to the fact that there are so mny kinds of books in there. Law, History, Atr and so on.

I liked to poetry of Psalms and Songs. Proverbs has some good stuff too.

Alot of the stories in the Bible can be related to things happening today in our everyday lives. The morals of the stories and such. I haven't read the Bible in a long time, but I was given a different version of one recently. It's called "The Message" and it's written in novel format. Written to make it easier to read, but still gets the message across.

Nah, Bub's one of the smarter guys here. BTW, I agree with Golden Bear, while I don't believe the Bible in a literal way, Psalms and Proverbs do have some good passages. Revelations is also entertaining at times.

Why the 666 at the end of your post? It is appearent that you do not believe in god so why do you believe in the devil? Cant have one without the other...

I've read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuternonomy and part of Numbers in the OT. And Matthew, Mark, Luke and part of John in the NT. I stopped reading them when they kept repeating themselves. It is pretty interesting stuff, though.

James 1:22-25
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does."

It is important to listen/read what God's Word says, but it is much more important to obey it, to DO what it says. We can measure the effectiveness of our Bible study time by the effect it has on our behavior and attitudes. Do you put into action what you have studied?

Remember this: The level of our submission to God's Word, is the measure of how much we love Him.
