The Associated Press reports that when Clifford "T.I." Harris reports to the Forrest City low-security prison on May 26, the award-winning rapper, actor and businessman will serve what will amount to a two-month stint. Initial reports stated the "King of the South" would serve 366 days in prison for multiple weapons charges. The reduced sentence was due to a special deal which called for T.I. to remain on home confinement and complete a series of community service programs, including an MTV series.

Fellow artists such as 50 Cent and Mysonne leveled allegations of snitching and secret deals with prosecutors, which T.I. vehemently denied. Officials say T.I. will receive no preferential treatment, and he will face three years probation as well as a $100,000 fine upon his release.

"Unless there are custody or security concerns, all incoming inmates are placed in general population," said R.D. Weeks, a spokesman for the prison. If T.I. would have been convicted on all of the weapons charges he was initially charged with, he would have faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison as well as $250,000 for each charge in his three-count indictment from 2007.

TI is has street credibility...from what i've heard hes actually a rapper that lived the life he talks about.

now for those who say he snitched, let me ask you this....when Sammy The Bull Gravano snitched on the mafia, was it kept secret from the public? No. It was public knowledge, and he was put in the witness protection agency. The reason TI got very little jail time (IMO) was because A.) hes famous B.) he has great lawyers C.) The court system believed it would be more benificial if he talked to kids and did community service than have him sit in jail. The idea is, troubled kids will listen to TI, and maybe he can make a difference.

I wonder did any of those kids think he was doing that MTV show out of the goodness of his heart. And not by trying to get a lower sentence.Haha

obviously he was doing it because he had to. but at the same time, I don't think TI is a bad guy. Hes done bad things, but that doesn't always make someone a bad person overall.

I just don't get that vibe from him......I think he was buying all those guns because was generally paranoid and worried for his life.

it sounds crazy, but thats him i guess...
