interesting as it is said my boxing style was made from using the spear and incorporated this barehand movements with boxing style punches and strikes. although it is a helluva a lot more than that.

i will check this out now. sounds interesting.

There is a book out on Hsing-I called "The Xingyi Quan of the Chinese Army" by Dennis Rovere. I think his pics are wak but the reprints of Huang Bo Nien manule are pretty intresting. If you use a spear or a bayonet does not matter in Hsing-I, the strikes are very powerful. Rovere also put a dvd out on this subject but I have not seen it yet.
I realy would like to learn this style some day, if I find a good teacher in the area. Does one of you know a good sorce of information about developing Jin? I have some Yang Styl Taiji as a base.
