I'm 5`9 and 225 lbs.... I've sparred against another heavyweight with 1 fight and knocked him out....since im short, I'll be fighting like Tyson and Frazier, staying low and popping out with big shots....any tips????My opponent is 215 lbs and 13 yrs old(i'm 14). I don't know his height. I'm southpaw, just in case you want to give me some pointers.

when fighting in amateurs all you really need is your jab to get the other kid scared and keep him away but since you are short when outside block punches when you stay inside move your head and unload

Just try to stay calm. Thats pretty much it. If you stay calm you can remember your training and hear your corner. Its gonna be hard, but if you can stay calm after getting hit, you will do good. Dont panic after the first time you get hit. Just try to keep calm, keep your guard up, remember fundamentals and listen to you corner.

Most people think to hit back once they have been hit but thats not boxing, thats a primal instinct. You want to pick and choose your punches wisely. Not just bum rush someone, like most 1st fight guys do. Dont get me wrong. You can get a win by bum rushing someone but what do you really get from it? Nothing.

Dont think about not getting hit because you will get hit. Just relax. Good luck.

dont listen to these guys telling you to lose weight, confidence is the key. amatures isnt about who can knock who out. its about how many punches land. so keep on him and throw ALOT of punches.
