Tried it once too, but when I failed they got all my 5,000 pts. Bad karma I guess (was just trying to get back when someone stole my 5,000 + points. So for now I'm going to be a good boy and stay away from stealing ;) Is there another way to protect your points or is banking the only way to do so?

Banking them is really the only way to protect them. You could always spend them on a cool custom title or glowing username.
