The school district started testing my son last week. He has one this week and then from there they give him the big one and then we sit down and discuss what his needs are. I got his final report card and he pretty much failed 8th grade. He's been off of all of his supplements (no meds for the last year) and he's driving us all nuts, but did say he wants to get back on them, which is a step in a positive direction since he fought taking them before. We've had him off the meds so he can be tested in his natural state. We should know more by the end of the month. He has one big set of tests left after this week's testing.

Just an update for those who care.

my mom tried putting me on meds after the $500/month drug counselor recommended it. i hated em & acted worse. they didn't make me feel any better but my mom was reassured because a "doctor recommended it". i do recall being jealous of the other drug counseling peers who got hooked up with legalized meth/ritalin. even though they never slept and spent most of their treatment crying and fantasizing about suicide.....they could at least tell some REALLY interesting stories.

not to mention the help we donated to the hard working medical professionals, who were able to upgrade from the mercedes 500 to the 600 series models. sure it's a lot more money but MAN those v-12's got some kick!!

That's pretty much why we took him off meds. They made him feel awful, he wasn't sleeping nights, no appetite, didn't grow much and plain just weren't working for long. They'd work two to three months and then the doc would up the dosage. He was up to 72mg of Concerta. Had to go thru the Dept. Of Justice every month for approval, then they added Ritilan, and wanted to up THAT. I said NO MORE....put him on supplements and WHAT a difference. He ate (gained weight too), he grew (taller than me now) and he FELT better. He was more in control of his anger, it was still there, and so was his bad attitude at times, but not like before, without the supplements. He didn't feel "funny" as he put it. His psychologist said that the meds working then not working was a good indicator that his brain DID suffer a brain injury versus him having "true" ADHD. Hopefully they will discover the best way to help him with the testing......he's a kid with a heart of gold, it's just covered in coal.....I want my son back.

the american drug system is so ****ed up. The one thing I hate the most is that you allow drug ads in media. I wish I could watch a american channel for more then two mintues before seeing a ad for depression.

i love how they cram all the side effects into one 30 second micro machine man run-on sentence, all the while the herpes infested slut is kiyaking happily with her boyfriend in the sunset.
