What 2 fighters if fighting in their prime would make for the ultimate war in the ring? I think Jack Dempsy against Rocky Marciano would go down as the greatest fight in history personally.

Monzon-Hagler would probably be tactical. Hagler would probably use the ring against Toney as well, who likes guys to come at him, but is less effective when he has to use his legs more.

Holyfield-Frazier, that would be a classic. I like Frazier in that matchup, with bodywork being the difference.

Bobby Chacon vs. Arturo Gatti
Joe Frazier vs. Rocky Marciano

Erik Morales against Bobby Chacon and Danny Lopez.

Not the same caliber of fighters as the others named, but James Kirkland against Frank Fletcher.

That would be a hell of a HBO BAD fight nowadays, or regular network TV fight back in the 80s.

How about Hamed-Lopez?

Frazier - Holyfield, and Duran - Chavez definitely get my votes.

I'll have to think really hard on this and get back to you on some others.

Do like the thought of Pacman v Duran. Prime Jack Johnson v Jack Dempsey and Ketchel v Greb would be another couple of fights i'd love to see.

Duran vs. Chavez

Nah, Duran is a bit too skilled to be in a truly great war. Doesn't get hit enough.

I think we've already seen the greatest possible that's ever been held or ever could be held. Go watch Chacon against Limon, I think 4 or something like that? That is the truest Hollywood style Rocky war. Absurd in its absurdity and epic intensity.

Pacquiao vs Morales 2

Huh? How many fights have you seen? Three? Good fight, but their first fight was better and there were better fights that same year and have been a million greater, more intense wars.

Hell, that isn't even close to Morales' greatest war, neither is his first fight with Pac. Good fight though, so I know where you're coming from. Comparative though, it simply doesn't compare.

I think Galaxy would likely stop both of them, he had that "elite" level of power (49 wins 43 KOs). One of, if not the best super flyweights ever and best Asian fighters in general.
