View Full Version : A "Zelda" post
nance 07-23-2004, 12:07 AM I don't mean the game either...lol. My bird has increased her vocabulary again. She is now speaking in complete sentences, some are quite funny.
"Zeldalovesmommy" I would say Mommy loves Zelda first....and yes, it's meant to be one word, because she says it that fast...lol
"Gimmeekiss"
"Go see mommy"
"Briiing, hello? hi Michael, uh huh, ok....yeah, ok.....bye"
and other versions of one sided phone convos...this is one my faves because she uses a name.
And everyone's favorite laugh around here...
"Zelda says mommy bad"
LOL
realkaps 07-23-2004, 12:37 AM I don't mean the game either...lol.
LOL
:sad2:
Bella 07-23-2004, 12:49 AM Man!! I love birds. I'm trying to talk my boyfriend into getting one. He cannot have anything like a puppy or a kitty, so he might as well get a damn bird.
Those things are insane. I had four parakeets when I was younger. It almost killed me when they died. :(
nance 07-23-2004, 01:02 AM Awww.....I know what you mean. We lost a ****atiel last year. I cried. He was sitting on the eggs when he died....the momma then sat on them, but they never hatched. I had to find her another home, she kept laying eggs.....wouldn't stop. Needed to have babies. :-(
I recommend reading up on all of them to see which kind is best for you/boyfriend and your lifestyles. I got an African Grey because they aren't as demanding and will "fit in" with the household, ie: noisy house, noisy bird, quiet house, relatively quiet bird. Some are just TOO noisy for some. Like ****atoos and McCaws, although beautiful birds.
nance 07-23-2004, 01:03 AM :sad2:
Awww.....I'm sorry kaps....I don't play video games, so it'll never be talked about by me...sorry.
Purity 07-23-2004, 02:41 AM i hate birds. i grew up my entire life around them. the following is a list of coolness in regards to the animal kingdom:
1. God
2. saltwater fish

3. People (as much as i hate to admit it)
4. cows
5. microscopic organisms
6. other mammals besides cows
7. freshwater fish
8. arachnids

nance 07-23-2004, 03:03 AM You grew up around little birds.....this is a thinking bird. BTW, one of Dan's got stuck inside an autofeeder. He caught it in time and we were able to get her head out before she starved to death.....lol

people are #3??? I could've thought of something better for that spot... people would be down near 8 or 9 on my list.
spiders are cool... they deserve like a 4 or a 5.
you suck at listing cool animals. go home.
Squezze 07-23-2004, 12:09 PM Purity's Top 10 list has 11 entries.
Purity=owned by math.
Purity 07-23-2004, 12:21 PM purity= owned by three 24's of heineken when he typed all that **** last night.
i'm not fixin it either. it still rules.
Squezze 07-23-2004, 12:27 PM I'm finding myself transfixed by Bella's crotch in every single thread she's posted in. I can't help but do a double take every time I pass it.
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 12:28 PM Fish and birds are food to me. I would say Dogs and Cats, followed by monkeys.
Allison 07-23-2004, 12:42 PM I hate birds so much.
handjobs4dollars 07-23-2004, 12:43 PM I would never buy a bird. My dog just kicks too much ass. She is a huntung dog and points to birds so you know where they to shoot at.
She's a german shorthair so I go around calling her a nazi and talking to hear in german sounding words that have no meaning. She kicks ass.
Squezze 07-23-2004, 12:46 PM I think, for the most part, birds are ****ty pets. They don't do anything except **** and make a hell of a lot of noise. Now granted, there are cool birds, but most of them suck.
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 12:55 PM Now, If I had 10,000 to spend I would get a llama. How f'n cool it would be to walk around Central Park with my llama.
1. Llamas
Allison 07-23-2004, 01:11 PM I would like to have a camel. I would ride it everywhere.
Squezze 07-23-2004, 01:14 PM I wonder if you could drill a hole in one of it's humps, and drink the water from it.
Purity 07-23-2004, 01:16 PM Fish and birds are food to me. I would say Dogs and Cats, followed by monkeys.
LMAO!!!!!
dude i can't get enough of that ****ing llama avatar
just picturing the llama saying everything that bub says cracks me up everytime!!
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 01:18 PM I am serious about buying a llama, man. They go for about 10,000... I can just picture my llama and I just chilling in West New York, having her spit at mofos passing by...
Llamas rule.

I love you.
Squezze 07-23-2004, 01:26 PM I wonder what llama tastes like.
Dude, where would you keep the Llamma? Would you put it in the backyard or would it sleep with you in your room?
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 01:36 PM I love you.
If you're ever around NYC. :booty:
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 01:38 PM If I buy a llama I would buy a house with a big ass backyard too, man.
And to my boy Squezze: Peruvian indians eat llama, I am going to South america next year and I am gonna go to the Andes. I would let you know what llama tastes like.
Allison 07-23-2004, 01:42 PM If you're ever around NYC. :booty:

Allison 07-23-2004, 02:04 PM No.

I wouldn't even know where to begin on researching them. They are kinda spendy, so we wouldn't want anything too extravagant.
We were giggling at the ****atiels yesterday. They seem to be pretty friendly.
He'd need something that doesn't need a whole lot of attention because I'm not living there yet and he works full time right now. I'm not so sure it would be to happy being alone alot.
Crotchatiels are nice to play with, but they can also be smelly sometimes...
Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2004, 03:10 PM Next Weekend.
You lie, woman.

Start with parakeets then....cheap easy, can learn to talk and whistle tunes of your choosing. Bird Talk magazine is a good source. Take your time.

It was just something I threw up in the air for discussion since he cannot have anything that might "chew through the walls". His landlord would probably have a fit if he caught something like that in the apartment.
I guess birds are pretty easy. As far as I know, they don't need any special maintenance work.

Cleaning their cage is the most work other than the usual of food and water on a daily basis. Unless you clip their wings and/or toenails. Where I got Zelda, they groom her for free...in fact she's due soon, her wings have grown.
Just remember, the bigger the bird, the bigger the mess. IT's sooooo true!! But as I sit here listening to Zelda talk and whistle thru her routine, it's worth it to me. She's awesome and I've been socializing her lately. She will pretty much step up on anyone's hand now. She's even let strangers pet her. That's the hard part, but it's good for her. Just don't try to take her off my shoulder or out of her cage. Only me or Jim can do that..... without getting bit....lol.
If you decide on a bird, I can link you to some good websites.
Bella 07-23-2004, 03:43 PM Sounds great.
I know he'd rather have something cuddly, and Lord knows birds aren't that cuddly, but something along those lines will have to suffice.
We like fish though. We both have lots of fish.
KittyKitty 07-23-2004, 03:55 PM Get a snake.
Purity 07-23-2004, 03:59 PM amen!
nance 07-23-2004, 04:22 PM bleh! Birds can at least talk to you and show love.....but that's not something you're looking for, is it?
Bella 07-23-2004, 11:55 PM I'm not a big fan of snakes. I like lizards and frogs though.
