View Full Version : Be Honest who is the man in the HW division?
semjasa 09-25-2004, 10:00 AM Lets all think hard and be honest, who is the man in the HW division at the moment. I dont mean who is champ or hols a title, who do you think is realy the best skilled with the most chance of unifying the titles and being the supreme HW champ.
Damn the pickings are so slim I cant name 1 who is good enough to unify titles, its a sad day for the HW division.
NichtGeflechten 09-25-2004, 10:19 AM Does your guide dog type for you or something? Vitali Klitscko is the man.
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 09-25-2004, 10:42 AM I think the most skilled fighter in the HW division is Byrd. But i dont think he can unify because he is both, a little small, and he gets careless sometimes and takes bigger risks than he should.
Winter 09-25-2004, 10:42 AM Honestly I think it is Vitali. He has systematically seized the thrown of heavyweight champion. The boxing world took serious notice of Vitali after he fought Lennox Lewis. Then he knocked out Kirk Johnson like no one else had done before, while Lennox Lewis watched in horror from his living room. Then Vitali beat Corrie Sanders like the way a surgeon does surgery on a patient. Vitali is probably the smartest fighter to be heavyweight champion in a long time. This is why he always controls every fight he has ever fought. Honestly, it is Vitali, until he is proven he is not the man.
ejk22 09-25-2004, 10:49 AM If all goes well and Vitali defeats Williams and Golota defeats Ruiz, the fight I want to see more than Vitali vs Toney would be Golota VS Vitali. I think Golota poses the biggest threat to Vitali's throne. Yes Golota is a ****ing whack job, but he showed discipline in the Byrd fight and if he pulls out the victory against Ruiz with no foul tactics that would be one interesting match-up.
neils7147933 09-25-2004, 11:01 AM We are still waiting on the man to arrive in the heavyweight division, or someone in the division to step up and be the man. No one is close yet.
Nautilus 09-25-2004, 11:11 AM Vitaly is the best. Many underestimate him, but this is good for Vitaly.
The Fix 09-25-2004, 01:20 PM the man right now is vitali but IMO the man who poses the biggest challenge to vitali is john ruiz. ruiz is so boring but he gets the job done. also a big threat to vitali is rahman if rahman comes in shape. an in shape rahman has the power to stop vitali.
realheavyhands 09-25-2004, 01:29 PM vitali wouldnt fight golota and said he wasnt ready....he aint bad but i think tyson is the best since lewis left out..tyson abused golota ..and i think danny williams gots a shot he is bigger then vitali... by 17 pounds..maybe if chicken leg vitali did some squats he would be more agile but like i been sayin 23 inch thighs on a man 6'7 will be a disaster in the end
Neuraxis 09-25-2004, 01:37 PM As of right now I don't see how you could say anyone but Vitali.

Yes...that's definitely true because he was only a six time world superheavyweight kickboxing champion amateur & professional....and he owed it all to his infamous X-tra Krispy KFC kick!

how can you say VK is the smartest HW champ in a long time, when we just had one of if not the smartest champ ever in LL? Also Holyfield, he cann't compare to those two. And today we has more skilled boxers in Toney and Bryd. Hell maybe even Ruiz, who is smart enough to keep to his boring game plan and bring everyone he fights into it. VK is good and has a good reach advantage over most everyone, but but i don't think he has all the tools to get past fighter like Rahman, Ruiz,we all saw how bad LL ****ed him up. nor can he beat James "Lights Out" Toney
TheGreat1 09-25-2004, 07:18 PM i forgot Tyson, VK doesn't have the skill or the power to keep Mike off like LL did.
NichtGeflechten 09-25-2004, 07:22 PM Mike Tyson would get raped by Vitali....
TheGreat1 09-25-2004, 07:25 PM Mike Tyson would get raped by Vitali....
I doubt that, Mike would take him out in about 2 or 3 rounds. unless VK got lucky as Danny Boy, and Mike hurts himself.

Just because Lewis has a British accent (sometimes) people automatically assume due to media conditioning that he is intelligent, he is actually quite stupid.
Hurlex 09-25-2004, 07:30 PM you guys no the tyson in round one of williams before he hurt his leg..would u give him a chance against L.Leiws...or do u think he never could have beat lewis
cuz it was a different tyson....he was in shape gettting in...they tyson the foiught lewis was not even into it
NichtGeflechten 09-25-2004, 07:30 PM Mike Tyson is a lisping cry baby front runner whose entire juvenile criminal record consists of mugging OLD WOMEN! Tyson already had a chance to start up **** with Vitali at a press conference a few years ago and didn't do dick. He is a punk. Bet the under BIG TIME!

I am referring to his in ring smarts and skill. i could give a damn how intelligent he is out side of the ring.

Tyson could never beat LL or Holyfield, they are too skilled for him. He would have killed B.Douglas and Williams in a rematch.
neils7147933 09-25-2004, 08:09 PM Tyson's not done yet. He should be, but the competition is so bad he really isn't all that far behind. Jameel McCline and Andrew Golota have title shots coming up and Kali Meehan should have won his title shot - and all 3 of these guys are inferior to Mike. Of course, I think if he fights Vitali, Byrd, and Ruiz in a Best of 7 he loses all 3 (might beat Brewster) but all it takes is one to grab the belt.
SonnyG8R 09-25-2004, 08:59 PM I doubt that, Mike would take him out in about 2 or 3 rounds. unless VK got lucky as Danny Boy, and Mike hurts himself.
Do you really believe this? I really don't see it
I agree that we don't really have "the man" in the division righht now although I definitely think that VK the best of the bunch and he may become the man. Time will tell.
nezahualcoyotl 09-25-2004, 09:18 PM John Ruiz Is The Man! Lol! Hahahahahahaa!!!
Cuz I Jus Saw Some Pigs Flying!
FistFest 09-25-2004, 09:30 PM Vitali Klitchko is the guy to beat.
