View Full Version : Is the punch you dont see comeing the one that can do the most damage? cotto16 05-09-2009, 04:24 PM Got caught with a punch i didnt see comeing and for the first time ever went on my ass gilb 05-09-2009, 04:29 PM i think there the best punches they come from nowere and you cant defend them because its too late lol ive also been put on my arse by one cotto16 05-09-2009, 04:32 PM i think there the best punches they come from nowere and you cant defend them because its too late lol ive also been put on my arse by one why is it most of the time that shot always puts you on you ass MANGLER 05-09-2009, 04:32 PM Definitely. This has been said a billion times in boxing. If you tell somebody 'gimme your best shot,' you get to brace yourself for the hit. That helps you take it. If the same person were to tap you on the shoulder and blast you soon as you turned around, no doubt that punch would hurt worse. gilb 05-09-2009, 04:54 PM i think because youve got no time to react and like mangler said you brace yourself if you no its coming but i suppose all it takes is that 1 punch to knock anyone out dont matter what height weight or style of fighting GJC 05-09-2009, 05:02 PM i think because youve got no time to react and like mangler said you brace yourself if you no its coming but i suppose all it takes is that 1 punch to knock anyone out dont matter what height weight or style of fighting Reason I always hated head guards was because I always felt you had blind spots wearing them. cotto16 05-09-2009, 05:50 PM Reason I always hated head guards was because I always felt you had blind spots wearing them. totally agree mate i hate them, i never see the hooks Marvin6591 05-09-2009, 06:41 PM Reason I always hated head guards was because I always felt you had blind spots wearing them. thats were my spidey senses kick in Young_Stalin 05-11-2009, 05:18 PM In my experience yes. The only shots that have knocked me to me knee or stunned me were the ones i never saw. I think it has to do with the suprise factor and balance. If you are going to put it all on the line to land a big shot you might get caught off balance. When your balance is off if the other guy gives you a jab the misses a flinch on your part could put you on the canvas. Thats why i like to stay real busy, if i take a shot i will throw somthin back even if im doing it blind or staggered. It will always throw the other guy off when you take his best shot to the face and you just keep at him. Think about it how would you feel if you landed the cleanest hardest punch you had on the guy and he just hit you back without a blink? Journeyman 05-11-2009, 09:31 PM i know what they say about that punch you dont see coming...but ive been hit with some painful rhythmic punches that i see them coming, but its like u cant do anything about it at that moment... Infern0 05-11-2009, 09:51 PM From my experience a shot you dont see or expect hitting you is worse than one you see coming! |
