View Full Version : NBA Thread...for hip hop fans, they go hand-in-hand especially if you from NY area
Floyd Sinclair 05-08-2009, 10:15 PM The Rockets are the one team that i think has A CHANCE of beating the Lakers and the Cavs. They match up well, they got Yao Ming...arguably the best center in the NBA. They got Ron Artest...all nba defensive 2nd team, a good 2nd option on offense, and a good team player. And they have several good role players like Scola, Brooks, Battier, and Landry. I heard Shane Battier has a book on how to guard Kobe, too bad it doesnt work. But who can guard Yao? Bynum cant seem to stay out of foul trouble, and hes still working on his timing after coming back from his knee injury. Pau Gasol? **** outta here
Right now, Rondo is arguably the mvp of the playoffs so far. Hes playing great, i dont know where the celtics would be without him. Pierce is looking old, Ray Allen has played good. I think that the Magic are the better team overall, but they're not as mentally tough as the celtics are. I can see this series going either way.
Cavs >> Hawks
Nuggets >> Mavs
Truth 05-08-2009, 11:08 PM Ray Allen still has it, its just hes not getting good looks. I feel bad for Ray, he trys hard. but the team right now isn't good enough. they need KG. PP still has it, but I think hes tired and injured. The Celtics can't win a title without KG...right now its just the big 2, and thats not gonna cut it.
Truth 05-08-2009, 11:09 PM it will be interesting to see who wins LA vs. Houston tonight in Houston........
Floyd Sinclair 05-08-2009, 11:12 PM the lakers are without Derek Fisher, he was suspended for knockin Luis Scola the **** down
Truth 05-08-2009, 11:21 PM I think Houston has a shot at beating LA, but I think the Lakers will win. They have KB24.
Truth 05-09-2009, 04:02 PM Good job, Lakers. your going to win this.......that was a big win.
Truth 05-10-2009, 07:11 PM I'm surprised the rockets won without yao.
oh well, the Lakers will still win......
Floyd Sinclair 05-10-2009, 07:14 PM i think so too, but thats a bad loss for them. Cleveland is cleary playing the best right now
Truth 05-10-2009, 07:17 PM LeBron vs. Kobe has to happen for the NBA's sake.
If I was stern I'd be pulling the strings in that LA vs. Hou series....
The Celtics will lose tonight Lol.....unless they get lucky.
Floyd Sinclair 05-10-2009, 07:22 PM i think that the magic are the better team talent wise, but the celtics are stronger mentally. If the magic do what they're supposed to do, i think they will win. But i can see them getting ahead of themselves and not coming out tonight with the focus and discipline that it takes to win.

I will make one prediction, if boston somehow wins tonight....they will win in 7.
Floyd Sinclair 05-10-2009, 07:28 PM I will make one prediction, if boston somehow wins tonight....they will win in 7.
i agree...the winner of this game will win the series. Its gonna be a fun game to watch, i like how the 2 teams match up.
*waits for 8:00*
Truth 05-10-2009, 11:14 PM the celtics are going to find a way to lose this game...lol
Floyd Sinclair 05-10-2009, 11:53 PM big baby davis hits the game winner
Truth 05-10-2009, 11:55 PM we got lucky. now i think we can win this series.....that was straight luck.
Truth 05-10-2009, 11:57 PM Next to the word lucky in the dictionary....they should put a picture of that shot.
aristotlemoses 05-10-2009, 11:59 PM big baby is the man though haha
i liked that dude since lsu
th4l3pr3ch4un 05-11-2009, 12:41 AM Big baby is the hero tonight!!!!!!!!!!!! It might not always look pretty, but big baby finds ways to make plays and he makes up for his lack of technichal skills with extreme hustle every second hes on the floor... Not to mention its only his 2nd year in the league, that shot wasnt luck truth, baby is one of the hardest workers out there.. He shot 9 for 14 tonight with 21 points... I dont think luck had anything to do with it.
Dont get it twisted, i want ray allen or paul pierce taking the game winner 99% of the time... But baby got his chance and capitolized ... Like he said in the interview after the game, he takes that shot all the time every single day in practice, and it was nothing but hard work paying off.
th4l3pr3ch4un 05-12-2009, 01:12 AM What team still in the hunt matches up the best against the cavs???? Including the west... who is capable of beating them and why
Truth 05-13-2009, 12:27 AM Wow. I'm surprised we won....
Starbury really sparked that comeback...
th4l3pr3ch4un 05-13-2009, 11:56 AM Wow. I'm surprised we won....
Starbury really sparked that comeback...
That was EXACTLY what we needed... some spark off the bench. We were losing that entire game until like 5 minutes was left and we started scoring.... Ray Allen hit that HUGEEE three, after missing absolutely every shot he took, he drained a major shot that put us up... Thats what the celtics do though, put themselves in holes and then find ways to win later in the game. haha
Truth 05-14-2009, 09:40 PM im surprised the celtics are up...
Truth 05-17-2009, 11:25 PM Celtics are done......
in a way i'm happy....lets be honest. we wern't beating cleveland this year anyway. Ecspecially without KG, even if KG cameback, he'd be rusty from not playing......
its all good. we had a **** load of injuries and almost made it to the conference finals.
we came close to winning the series in game 6, and we blew it. The Magic deserve to win, they are the better team right now.
Floyd Sinclair 05-17-2009, 11:33 PM celtics really need a small forward to back up pierce...
james posey/shane battier/bruce bowen type of player
I've been saying it for a while, everyone says they need a center or a backup point guard but even with a healthy team, i dont think they would have beat cleveland this year.
Last year, there wasnt as much of a gap between lebron and pierce as there is this year...maybe pierce is hurt, but i think hes also losing his first step. Lebron really stepped up his defense this year.
So my question is besides pierce, who else would the celtics have to guard lebron? Ray allen? Tony allen? big baby? Powe?
nahhh, hence my point...they need a small forward to backup pierce. Someone who can play some defense and knock down an open 3 pointer
Truth 05-17-2009, 11:40 PM they need posey..lol^
i think they would have gotten by orlando with a healthy team. and maybe if they got home court too, they could have had some sort of a shot. But it wasn't their year, KG got injured, didn't get home court. It was not meant to be this year.
The Yankees won 5 in a row...so I'm happy about that though.
Floyd Sinclair 05-17-2009, 11:44 PM i give the celtics alotta credit, they fought hard in the 1st round against chicago and they fought hard against orlando. I thought coming into the series, that the magic were a step up from chicago and the celtics, and that they might win the series but I also knew the celtics had more heart. I wouldnt be ashamed at all if i was a celtics player or fan. They went down fighting with the exception of the 4th quarter tonight. The Cavs will rape the Magic. Cleveland in 5.
Truth 05-17-2009, 11:47 PM I'm excited for a kobe vs. lebron finals....its gonna be good tv.
Truth 05-17-2009, 11:51 PM who is going to win...Lakers vs. Cavs?
Truth 05-25-2009, 12:35 AM I can't believe how well the magic are doing against cleveland.
they had a tough time with a KGless Boston, who would think they would do well against Cleveland?
I thought the Cavs would win in 5.
Truth 05-27-2009, 12:32 AM if the magic win this game...wow...wow 3-1?
Truth 05-27-2009, 12:47 AM one thing i will say is, its not Lebron's fault the cavs are struggling. hes played great overall. i think orlando is just playing better basketball right now as a team...
Truth 05-27-2009, 12:50 AM LeBron has had 40 point game after 40 point game....hes made big shots.
its just his team around him, isn;t playing as good as orlandos....
orlando is playing the better basketball...
I can't believe how well the magic are doing against cleveland.
they had a tough time with a KGless Boston, who would think they would do well against Cleveland?
I thought the Cavs would win in 5.
i had CLE in 6 and this is from a Magic fan but i stated not just here that i wouldnt be surprised as most "experts" and most fans would be if Orlando took this thing. up 3-1 now. Magic just cause match-up problems for the Cavs. i dont hold much stock in how teams played or beat in the regular season to the playoffs but its holding true for Orlando. CLE is lucky James made that 3 in game 2. otherwise this would be over and basically should be. games 1, 2 & 4 could of gone either way though. they been close.
Truth 05-29-2009, 12:19 AM LeBron stepped up like a true boss tonight....I have to admit.
neils7147933 05-29-2009, 12:21 AM The NBA is only slightly less staged than the WWE
There are variables at work, but it's a much more "controlled outcome" sport than baseball or football
Truth 05-29-2009, 12:26 AM ^ i know what ur saying. i mean think of all the Lebron vs. kobe advertising. its obvious thats what the NBA wants.
but at the same time, I don't think its really staged. lebron just made great shots and plays down the stretch.
Truth 05-29-2009, 11:10 PM so is the lake show advancing tonight????
Truth 05-30-2009, 11:37 PM The Cavs are done. But its not LeBron's fault. He had 40 point game after 40 point game....he made clutch shots, he did it all. Orlando was just the better team in the end...

I'm not even a LeBron fan, but its not his fault....Orlando just turned out to be better.
Truth 05-30-2009, 11:43 PM Congrats to the Magic. I'm happy for them...
Truth 06-05-2009, 12:48 AM at first i thought this would be a long series....but i don't know.....lol...i don't know...
i think the lakers showed me something, and now the magic are in trouble.
Truth 06-07-2009, 09:02 PM if the lakers win tonight, this **** is a rap...like that u-god song
