Cookin up- The cd opens up with Cam bringing straight fire onto the mic... Crazy world play on a real hard dipset sounding beat. Cam throws down three verses and even kills his own chorus on this one... "We cookin up babbbyyyy" Good way to set the tone for the rest of the album. 5/5
Where I Know You From- Cam Slows his flow down on the beat on this track and it fits the beat well.. He gets a little hard to follow at times then transitions his lyrics like only cam can with some real solid bars.. Third verse sold me on this song with the wordplay, "you should really peep it, mac milly skeeted, in yo face, any case, id really beat it" dont sleep on this track. 4.5/5
Never Ever- The beat sounds like a song that should be played on a disney musical.. The vocals on the chorus really didnt work at all in my opinion... But cam comes out of left field and flows basically perfect on the beat so its hard to hate on him. 3/5
Curve- Hard sounding new york style beat, camron flowing hard as always and going even harder lyrically. "Im rambo, commando, commacho, yo dissapear, vamanos vato, got doe, gwop hoes... etc" haha this is vintage camron, tell the girl to curvvveeeee 5/5
Silky (No Homo) - Cam does his thing on this track putting his bars together he transitions very well, the chorus is the downfall of the track. Third Verse i got a little lost... But I give cam credit for taking a chance though with the beat and the sample he was close to really having something here. 3.5/5
Get it in Ohio- Track dropped a minute ago, so im assuming everyone knows that this is that piff. Camron spits nothing but fire for three verses on a crazy beat, crazy chorus, this is crack. His flow is flawless on this ****
5/5
Who- Beat comes out bumpin, cam comes out FLOWINGGG, the base drops to "WHOOO" and cam just spits all over this beat that was taylor made for killa... Chorus is real heavy, Might be the hardest track on the album. One of the hardest songs ive heard this year. 6/5 ... thats right, 6 out of 5 ahah
You Know Whats Up- Song opens up with some vocals, sounds like a fake max B.. then transitions into a female singing about sex, this isnt going well... Cam comes out, smooth flow, lyrics are kind of lacking on this one. Pretty lackluster all around on this track. 2/5
Spend the Night- Very commercial beat, Cam goes in on the beat though, gets a little hard to follow but his slick talking works for what the song is... This song will get skipped more times then not for me but he demonstrates some good transitions with his lyrics 3/5
Woo Hoo- Song opens up and cams lyrics all revolve around the sample of "Woo Hoooo" ... It works for the most part but the "Woo hoo" gets a little tiring when the 2nd verse starts with the female rapper who could have deffinantly been left out of this one... Then 40 cal comes out of left field with some pretty good punch lines, highlight of the track is when 40 switches his flow fasttttt. Though at the end this sounded like it shouldve been on 40 cal's album... not cams 3/5
Chalupa- Another taylor made cam beat, camron does what he does best opening up on the 1st verse, hard bars and switches his flow up.. Cam gets on the chorus and his flow is catchy as hell. Solid second verse again no one can transition there lyrics like camron. Third verse had that wordplay, im feelin this. 4/5
Cookies And Applejuice- Opens up sounding like a gucci mane beat... Cam hops on in spittin a little slow, then speeds it up, hes real smooth, a little hard to follow with the lyrics but the flow is on point... Chorus comes out, and really doesnt work... Female rapper on the 2nd verse, who once again hurts what couldve been a good song. Cams 3rd verse is nice, but it doesnt make up for a wack chorus. 2/5
I hate My job- Another track thats been out for a minute.. Was feelin this since day one. Track is real smooth, everyone can relate to it, and cam just really went out of the box with this one. Nice versatility killa
5/5
Homicide- I hear the base start hitting, you know right away that this is a camron joint.. Cam comes out hard as hell, beat switches up and your head starts bumpin.. Killa gets on his own chorus, fits the song pretty much perfectly. The beat alone gives this song at MINIMUM a 4... Cam makes it a 5/5 easy... Great beat selection.
Got it For Cheap- Also known as my aura... The beat hits hard and fast, just like cams flow on the joint. Camron fans will love this one, goes real hard from beggining to end. 1st verse is standout verse. 5/5
Get It Get It- Cam goes in, some serious content on this track.. which is what in my opinion cam has always been missing. Piano keys on the beat, fits in very well. This is a joint ive been waiting to hear from killa, he actually spits a bit about his life which you dont hear alot from the dipset capo... 5/5
Bottom Of the ***** Hole- Put this on your mixtape camron, keep this off the album.. Im very open minded when camron makes his music, but this is just trash to me. 1/5
Wow that was a very interesting album, I enjoyed reviewing it for sure... At the end of the day im impressed with what Killa came out with.. He came out swinging for sure. Songs like "Who" "Cookin Up" "Get It in Ohio" "Homicide" and "Curve" really set the tone of the album... These tracks had the hardest beats that fit cam the best... But on top of those tracks you had "I hate my Job" "Where I know you From" and "Get it Get it" where camron stepped outside the box with something different, showing he still has alot of versatility.
Unfortunatly there are several songs on the album that will be remembered as the downfall...
"You know whats up"
"Woo Hoo"
"Cookies And Applejuice"
"Bottom of the *****Hole"
"Spend the Night"
These tracks should have been left out pretty much hands down in my opinion...
At the end of the day.... Four out of Five Stars 4/5
Camron put out a hard album, and showed anyone who didnt already know, that cam can flow on anything and his flow is basically legendary...
Crime Pays is going to do some serious bumpin in my whip... thats all i gotta say.
