View Full Version : Why is it.........
Fallout 07-07-2004, 10:07 PM why is it that most people that are in favor of the war in iraq are people that would NEVER serve in the military?
Honestly, out of all the people on this board that think the war is a good thing, I can only see one of you actually joining the service, and he can't even do that because of reduced hearing in one of his ears.
Its not just here. All of the people I have seen that support the war, I could NEVER see ANY of them in the army.
nance 07-07-2004, 10:28 PM Well, I'm too old. But one of my daughter's friends just joined the Army, she leaves in two months. Two other friends joined the Air Force. They left already. My son wants to be a Marine. Just like his uncle.
realkaps 07-07-2004, 10:39 PM Like I told you on AIM, I know alot of people in the military, and they support the war, and a majority of them joined just so they could go to Iraq. I almost went too the army when I was 18. Took the asdav and everything. But **** came up so I backed out.......

if there was a shortage of soldiers and the USA was struggling, then maybe your question would have some meaning. people join the military as a career knowing the risk that some day they may have to go to war. people have families, jobs, education and can't just set things like that aside. joining the military is a serious commitment that you can't back out of once you sign the papers. what is right for one person isn't always right for the next. not everyone can be cut out for war or simply for the military and could be more harmful than helpful.
your question could probably be applied to someone who supports the war but would dodge the draft.
Kempo Chris 07-08-2004, 10:00 AM Yea I took the test and everything. I would not be able to actually be on the front lines. I could of probably done something administaratively, but to me that would be pointless. I can't sit behind a desk.
Piedra 07-08-2004, 12:26 PM I would like to see all the one's who are in favor of war under a bombing, watching their family turn into pieces. And then hearing a foreign ******* saying that the war is in the name of democracy, hate is the only answer.

The Mouse 07-14-2004, 03:50 PM I'm all for the war in Iraq, why? because I'm not a damn flower hippy, that's why. I tried to get into the Marines because I wanted to be an infantry man, but they wouldn't let me in because I had too many tat's, (max u can have is 6 and when I tried to go in I had about 30).. I tried, I petitioned, I talked to the "higher ups" and they still wouldn't make an exception. I support the war in Iraq and you can be damn sure that if they let me in, I would have already been in Iraq right now. But unlike most hippies on this forum who would rather stick a flower in a gun barrel than fight for world liberation, I would gladly fight, I'd fight 'till the very end, and I'd fight 'till death.. but our wonderful government said "no, you're not pretty enough to be a killer for us because you have too many tattoos."

They are running short of soldiers. Why do you think they are keeping people in the army longer than thier tour of duty and calling back retired soldiers. Also, why are they trying to bring back the draft?
I seem to recall you making a remark about me having a room mate if the draft came back.
Squezze 07-14-2004, 11:04 PM I pose the immortal question....... peace sells, but who's buying?

i'd be dead in 20 seconds if i went to war. you should see how scared i get when someone gets into a real fight infront of me. i'm a coward. i start shaking and my voic cracks really bad.
