View Full Version : Headgear cleto reyes
jjones10591 05-06-2009, 11:44 PM i was looking into getting the full face protection headgear they have on ringside and i looked at cleto reyes website and i couldnt find out how to order direct or even if you can because on ringside they only have red so if you can help me out would appreciate it thank you
I3C727 05-06-2009, 11:55 PM just want to let you know they use a steel bar in them so its incredibly heavy.
jjones10591 05-07-2009, 12:02 AM thank you i looked into that but ive already broken my nose a couple times and now i just want to try to save it as much as possible how comparitively heavy do you think it is compared to normal headgear
shawnrf 05-07-2009, 12:03 AM I'm not sure, but I don't think that is true anymore. Might want to ask.
I3C727 05-07-2009, 01:08 AM yea send reyes an email or ringside asking for the weight, normal headgear is like 12-18 ozs so try to get around there

i got one bro. there not that much heavier than a normal face guard. Very strong - your nose wont cop nothing. only problem i have it that i usally hold my right hand in front of my nose for my guard, and beacuse of the massive bar there i end up holding it heaps further out than it should be, but i highly recommen u getting one if u have nose problems
Eshays! 05-07-2009, 04:06 AM also recommend u use sunblock next time as well
jjones10591 05-08-2009, 10:43 PM i got the winning headgear with the nose bar its expensive but when it comes to my head its worth it
Marvin6591 05-09-2009, 12:48 AM i got the winning headgear with the nose bar its expensive but when it comes to my head its worth it

I3C727 05-10-2009, 09:47 PM what colors did you guys get
We want Floyd 05-10-2009, 10:54 PM I was b*tchin' about it at first, but I'm keepin' my Fightgear headgear w/ facebar. It ain't bad really, it just has a slight misalignment on it, but, it felt like the Winning one's, but I must say, the ear protection sucks on the Fightgear. But sh*t I got it for like 118 when it was sellin for 129.
jjones10591 05-10-2009, 11:03 PM i got yellow and when it comes i will post pics
Marvin6591 05-11-2009, 01:41 AM white all day

I3C727 05-15-2009, 12:01 AM damn yo i wish i could afford some winning gear.. but on the thread topic..
i wouldnt ever wear a facebar headgear...
alot of people feel that way but it really just stops your nose from being broken. That is why alot of sparring partners for pro fighters wear them, so they can keep sparring and not have any injuries preventing that.
jjones10591 05-15-2009, 12:24 AM my nose is still broke thats why i wear it i have nothing to prove in sparring im just trying to learn and i can do that better without a broken nose
Marvin6591 05-15-2009, 02:00 AM my nose is still broke thats why i wear it i have nothing to prove in sparring im just trying to learn and i can do that better without a broken nose

Marvin6591 05-15-2009, 10:32 PM thanks, yea i want to see some detailed pics of that headgear, do some close ups multi angle if you can.
yeah man i will for sure.... what size headgear did you get? when i tried on the large it just felt too big for some reason
I3C727 05-15-2009, 10:45 PM large. i think im inbetween large and medium. Medium too small large a tad too big.
Marvin6591 05-15-2009, 11:26 PM large. i think im inbetween large and medium. Medium too small large a tad too big.
yeah hopefully the medium isnt too small
I3C727 05-15-2009, 11:33 PM well its the facebar so you can just adjust the laces. With the 2900 when its too big the cheek pads push into your nose and when its too small they stick off to the sides offering no real nose protection at all.
did you measure your head along your eye brows?
Marvin6591 05-15-2009, 11:36 PM well its the facebar so you can just adjust the laces. With the 2900 when its too big the cheek pads push into your nose and when its too small they stick off to the sides offering no real nose protection at all.
did you measure your head along your eye brows?
along my forehead lol and im sure it will fit....but i get what your saying but im really feeling the blue gear man its sick.
I3C727 05-16-2009, 01:32 AM lol thanks.
Marvin6591 05-16-2009, 02:11 PM You shouldve put your name on your headgear lol
I3C727 05-16-2009, 02:14 PM Its probably so much money to do that or i would. To get custom colors its 30 percent more per item. So that would be like 80 more dollars on the gloves, kind of rediculous.

really check this out.... im thinking about getting it on a cup protector
Dear Marvin:
Thanks for your inquiry mail about a name on the gears.
Yes, you can have your name on the gears.
* $40 for the gloves.
* $20 for the headgear.
* $30 for the cup protector.
You can have any colors all capital or script.
Waiting for your any questions or requests.
Have a nice weekend. 2009. 04. 17. KAZUMICHI
I3C727 05-16-2009, 03:15 PM nice, yea go for it. i didnt really have the extra money
Marvin6591 05-16-2009, 04:05 PM yeah i will. sometimes i wonder why i spend so much money lol

I3C727 06-03-2009, 02:40 PM man that is nice.
is it not the leather on the inside? Is there nylon on the inside like on the inside of the gloves?
Marvin6591 06-03-2009, 02:41 PM man that is nice.
is it not the leather on the inside? Is there nylon on the inside like on the inside of the gloves?
Thanks man. Yeah its pretty much the same inside as the gloves.
I3C727 06-03-2009, 03:42 PM i guess they changed it up. in that youtube review video you can see the inside is the leather just like the outside.
let me know how it does with sweat.
Cuauhtémoc1502 06-03-2009, 03:59 PM Gloves by Reyes, headgear by Ringside. I like the ringside headgear because it fits me perfect. I have tried other more expensive stuff but for some reason it fits my head the best.
